Dont get me wrong mate, the brakes are top class in every way when you need them, however they need to be up to temp to be the best they can be and as i normally dont do that more of the pad is worn and the disc. If you use your car regular and longer than my commute then you will not have any issues at all, PF UK have been great and helped me with another set cheap and i can keep my original ones even though the place i bought them from are not officialPFUK dealers, they were 13 months old ans covered 4500 miles. there are loads of official dealers mate, zen performance being one of them also when i had my Spec C it had DBA brakes and they were just as good, extreme performance supply them. Hope that helps, you can have a butchers on the next Lanark meet mate. Mac

Barry, I have PF discs and pads on my car, very very good mate and was put to the test on the run last Thur, not a bit of fade and highly reccommended. However i have had issues with mine and to cut a long story short if you only do short journeys and dont get them up to temp you will not get the best wear from them as i found out as i only do 6 miles a day and 4500 and they are half worn already, have had a new set froM PFUK, However i would not buy them from AZTEC PERFORMANCE as he has been a drama as well and are not fully PF UK dealers. Totally agree mate, i have been on a meet in the last month and the limit was smashed on several occassions(safely IMO) except for when going through town etc i was also informed that on another areas meet the speeds were a lot brisker than what we drove, i have no problem with going over the limit SAFELY and if i get caught its my fault, THE GUY WAS JUST AFTER SOME ADVICE. Mac

Oh my god, listen to all the driving gurus, most people on here would break the limit on the motorway, the guy is just asking for any hotspots not a telling off for past misdemenors(sp) Mac

Watch J14 at just before Abington services, you go down a large hill and then come up the other side usually flying and as you go round a bend they sometimes sit on top of a bridge there. Also as said before Dumfries and Galloway Feds are quite sneaky. Mac

Speak to these guys: http://www.apexperformance.co.uk/catalog/default.php They have a group buy on these on scoobynet at the moment. Mac

Which Brake Discs And Pads For Brembo's ?
Rednosespeccltd replied to scoobnoob's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Be carefull when you buy the Performance friction set up, i have this on my car and i have no complaints about there stopping power as i foud out on th first Lanarshire meet, i loved them and would reccommend them. However, it all depends on the drive you will do as i have found out that if like me you only use them for a small commute each day they do not get up to temp and will wear quickly, howver as soon as they are warm then they apply a layer of the pad to the disc and they are immense. I have only had mine a year and done 4500 miles and they are worn more than they should, duncan (dynamix) gets 16000 out of a set for TA as he is using them to their full potential. I have now received another set from PF for half price as the GB i got them from would not even entertain any corespondance from me, also make sure that the supplier is a authorised PF one as the one i used was not(aztec performance) and they had bought the pads and discs straight from US and had no dealer back up. IMO they are fantastic brakes but make sure if you are getting them that you are using them to thier full potential. i will still use this set up as i cannot fault their performance. Mac -
Should only take 20 min mate but i will need to fill up at the shell station in Lanark anyway so i will be there before half past 6 definately,it does not look to hard to find though, lol Anyone else????? Famous last words that. Mac

I really do not see the major drama with this, he has bought the right to a domain name, he owns it, he is not some con artist who is trying to flog it to make a buck, he is a fellow Subaru enthusiast and will probably look after the name well. If he wishes to attract members to HIS forum then that is their right to choose as most did when the scotland part of scoobynet left on mass to here, i really dont get the problem. Connor, good luck mate and when your site is up and running, let me know and i will pop over for a look. Mac

I hear what you are saying bud, but was that not what happened a few years ago when all the scottish guys on Scoobynet were asked to come over here because of a tiff with some guys who dont usually post on here anymore???? most just went Baaaa and joined here(like me,lol) Mac

Welcome mate, My Hawkeye does exactly the same noise on 100mph, Although i do not have a private track to test it, i just use the M74,LOL Get the HT autos splitter mate as its plyable and not stiff fiberglass and will not shatter when you clip the kerbs as you will do, also i think the droplinks on Hawkeyes are already the alloy ones, not 100% though. Gus (the bus) on here got me front and rear braces mate for cheaper than you mentioned and he fitted them as well, top guy. Mac
-
I used to have them on my old Spec C, fantastic brakes and fitted by Iain Litchfield, i currently run Performance friction discs, carbon pads and braided hoses, better than the DBA but not much in it. Mac
