I tow my Fiesta (Yes I do race a Fiesta, good guess lol) with my Dads Mondeo. I have been thinking about using my Scoob to tow with but I am not sure how good a tow car it would be. I have seen other people use them though.

I looked at the Monklands membership form and see what you mean about requiring signatures, Ive not seen that before, it shouldn't be a problem though. The track is good but very twisty, the track nights seem to be getting more popular, a good cheap way to practice and learn the track and the car.

I am a member of Grampian automobile club but that is only because if you are a member you get a discount on the entry fee so it works out free to join if you do all their events. (I am a cheap skate I know) Some other clubs do the same e.g. Monklands sporting car club, but not Lothian car club.

Most people make there own timing struts, when you get your competition license you will also get a copy of the blue book (regulations) it tells you in it what size and where it needs to go. If you go to any Hillclimb or Sprint you will see how other people have made theirs.

I never was very good at arithmetic, but I know the Road saloon over 1800cc class at Fintray had 20+ entries and the classes at Forrestburn and Doune had less than 10. Overall the Scottish championship has more entries but I think the Highland has more cars in the road car classes. I am talking about the Hillclimbs I dont know how the Sprint entries have been. I am not trying to start an argument with you John, I was just trying to encourage a newcomer to the sport .

The Scottish sprint championship has cut classes due to lack of entries, the Highland championship has added classes due to having lots of entries, dont know why but Hillclimbs and Sprints seem to far more popular in the North of Scotland at the moment. I could show a picture of me rolling my car at Doune but I am trying to encourage new people to Hills and Sprints not put them off!

Stop trying to put him off we need all the competitors we can get! The Highland speed championship changed their road saloon classes this year and put the 4wd turbo cars in a separate class. If they got enough entrys the Scottish championships might do the same.

The problem you will find with Hillclimbs and Sprints is that the Road car class has a capacity split at 1800cc so your 205 (very nice by the way) will be in the over 1800cc class which puts it up against some VERY quick turbo 4wd cars including John Stevensons 500Bhp Scoob. Dont let that put you off though,in Hills and Sprints there is usually someone close to your times that you can compete with. Anything you want to know about Hillclimbs just ask. I have been racing a Fiesta for years at Doune, Forrestburn and Fintray.
