Mate not being funny but when buying any car you should always have an HPI report done as minimum, I always go for the AA inspection which includes HPI. Your not the first person to be caught out like that, just a shame it's a very expensive lesson to learn. Did you buy from a garage if so you may have some sort of comeback.

Maybe it is better in the flesh but judging by the pics it looks tatty imo. You say it's just light rust underneath maybe so but once it starts it's hard to get rid of.

I think you'll be doing well to get 2200 tbh, it's an auto which aint too popular also as said by yourself it's a bit tatty. Underneath is very rusty too. Take it the car wasn't undersealed when imported.?

Bought my V3 STI 555 V/LTD from Calders and have no complaints, service was excellent, made sure the car was right before they let me have it, replaced the clutch (which was slipping so slightly that was only noticed by them when they road tested it after servicing it.), front bumper was damaged at the docks so they replaced it and painted. Undersealed it too. Found Dee to be really helpfull and have no complaints.

your coolant level might be low, if it is you have to ask why and that can sometimes be expensive

Was getting really bad MPG due to a faulty MAF, about 180 miles to the tank, changed the MAF now back to normal

by restricted i take it you mean it's an import thats limited to 112mph, to de restrict depends on the age of the car

sounds like a dodgy maf, strange it's not thrown a CEL tho.

see when the cars idling does it idle smoothly or does it hunt, if it's hunting it could be the maf.
