  4. As above what's involved in removing the inner wing resonator box, any parts needed or is it just a case of juggling about what's already there.
  5. Hi mate, I personally have a V3 STI 555 V/Ltd, and I can tell you they are great cars althought they are heavy on the juice. As long as there is plenty of service history with the car you'll be ok What mileage etc is on the one you are looking at, has it been modified. Me personally I always look for a standard car but as long as the work has been caried out properly it'll be ok.If you are at all unsure there are always RAC or AA inspections, ok it might seem an extra expense at the time but it could save you a fortune later on in repairs and if there is any small things wrong with the car it can be used as a bargaining tool. Good luck with the search mate and welcome to the forum. Also I'm sure there will be wiser people along in a minute, Squiggle by the way cheers for the MAF advice, worked a treat.
  6. Right gave the MAF a good clean an re -fitted an all seems ok, will be keeping a close eye on it. While removing the MAF I noticed that my air filter was dirty, i mean very dirty and the garage who I bought it from were meant to have serviced it too. So I went up to Ian Grieves in Camelon got my new filter with a 10% discount from being in the SIDC even tho I never had my card on me. Must say the service was brilliant even priced a replacement MAF for me too just incase. Well done the guys a Grieve Subaru and keep up the good work.
  7. Mine hasn't done that mate, light only on for a few seconds then goes off, no loss of performance. I would do a manual check of codes of the ecu and find out what the problem is mate.
  8. I'm going to give it a good clean tomorrow.
  9. Is this wise to try cleaning or am i better just getting a new one?

  11. right troops, I just did a manual read of fault codes and it's throwing up code 23, the dreaded MAF. Anyone know the best place to source a replacement
  12. Do you have to remove the cowling around the steering column to get at the connectors to manually read the fault codes?
  13. Right folks the CEL came on again for about 30 secs then went off again. Car was warm it had been sitting outside my mates for about 10 mins, when i started the car and went to drive off the CEL was on, drove gently up the street an the light went off. any ideas how to find the fault , ie confirm it is the MAF and how much it's going to cost.
  14. no mate it wasn't me.
  15. cheers mate the light has not been on since and the car is running fine.
  16. Is that likely to cause problems with the MAF
  17. The check engine light came on in my car today for about 30 seconds then went back out. I had just jetwashed the car, the engine was warm and i was driving off boost taking it easy as i pulled out from the petrol station. It's a V3 STI 555 with 58k on the clock. Standard apart from a dump valve and H&S backbox. It made 254bhp on the rollers at Hypertech and all readings ie AFR etc were ok.
