  1. well frank latest is car was dropped off for mot on saturday by stewart to his local garage who does all his mots, not heard if passed or what. stewart has informed me im still waiting on paperwork from the shipping agent to confirm i have paid for the customs etc which has not arrived yet and without it i cant register it. stewart has chased them up hopefully will come in the post tomorrow but im not holding my breath. the wait goes on.
  2. as above, getting my version 3 sti on monday and want to get it fully serviced and checked over and new cambelt possibly oil pump etc. where should i take it, im in edinburgh dont want to travel too far but dont mind travelling a bit for the job being done properly by people who know what they are doing. cheers.
  3. nice car, very low!. what exhaust you getting?
  4. hopefully u will see yours soon frank, would like to see it in the flesh u will have to pop round in it. I will post plenty of pics up once its been given a proper clean up and polish, got few bits to be fitted, want the skirts colour coded etc .will get pics up standard first then more as it progresses. cheers.
  5. white classic sti version 3 with 40000mls and a grade 4
  6. i was going to buy the white v3 sti u r talking about was up for £6750, totally standard, was mint, had 67000mls on the clock or thereabouts, was paying cash, best deal was £6500!!i haggled but that was it, not a great discount and i thought was overpriced. went through stewart at sc imports, got same model, grade 4, only 40000mls and also standard for a lot less all in. i see they have a nice sti ra in at the moment but £6995!! i agree think they are a bit pricey but some of the cars are indeed very nice, some not so.
  7. my classic sti is now on these shores at long last, felt like an eternity. stewart at sc imports is hoping to have the car transported up from liverpool on saturday or early next week and will be mot'd and registered. cant wait. been buying bits and bobs for it over the last few weeks, bought an sti genome backbox today, already got full decat system, some rally sti flaps, booked in with andy f for july for apex fc and remap, looking at some alloys too. cant wait to hear that scooby rumble again on my drive.
  8. what centre section and downpipe do u have mate?
  9. yeah my last uk classic had the scoobysport backbox and full decat however this time i wanted something that sounds a bit more aggresive.
  10. good stuff! cant wait to get it on the car.
  11. some of you may remember i posted up pics of my version 3 classic sti in white that i had sourced through stewart at sc imports which landed in liverpool on sunday but i wont get my hands on it until another couple of weeks. so until then i have been getting a few bits for it. this arrived today, got decat h&s downpipe on the way, this is full h&s decat with jap pipe. anyone heard one of these??
  12. looking to get the side skirts and rear skirts colour coded white to match the rest of my car when it arrives from japan, could someone recommend a good paint shop in or near edinburgh for me to take my car to please. how much roughly will this job cost me? cheers.
  13. Just wanted to say a massive thanks to Stewart for helping me find exactly the car i was after. Cant recommend him enough he has been really helpful and always kept in contact to keep me informed what was happening. If anyone is looking to get an import look no further than S.C Imports. The car is a version 3 sti with 40000mls on the clock and standard bar a turbo timer it was a grade 4 on the auction sheet. its the colour and spec i wanted, its going to be a long 6 weeks until it arrives. sold my uk turbo last year and had looked into a import sti test drove one at calders but i got this one at a great price and very low miles. my plans are to have the side skirts and rear skirts colour coded, a full decat and an apexi fc fitted and mapped by andy f to ensure its running spot on. cant wait to get back into subaru ownership. anyway here are the pics........... and my old uk turbo............................................
  14. yes mate it was the one at calders. drove it from cold and it was miss firing girl said it has still to be put into workshop for service etc and that they would rectify the problem before it was sold, maybe plugs or something but wasnt right but is a nice car really clean bit pricey though.
  15. sold my modded uk classic last year and have missed scooby ownership so today drove a jap import 1997 sti v3 in white, its standard except uprated suspension what mods should i look at fitting to it, was quite quiet compared to my fully decatted uk model so would defo be looking at getting a new exhaust would i need a decat downpipe as well?
  16. ive seen one of these for sale new import looks stunning totally standard what r they like compared to a uk classic? know they have short gear ratios for accelaration and are lightweight, its a version 4 btw, 1997. would only be a toy for weekends and good weather nothing else so not worried about creature comforts just want another scoob and something very quick. cheers.
  17. recently sold my uk turbo and badly missing it. looking to get a classic sti a 97 or 98 model probably. i see that calder motors have what looks like a nice white example bit steep at £6750 for a 97, what should i look out for, what r they like to drive compared to a uk classic (mine was modded with upgraded brakes, suspension and ecutek remap) anyone had any dealings with calder motors or mackay trading? advice greatly appreciated.
  18. recently sold my uk classic turbo and on the lookout for a mint p1, noticed on autotrader that ian greives have one for sale anyone here seen it? who is the forum user that works at that dealership so i can pm him and ask him some questions, think ill organise a test drive missing scooby ownership.
  19. hi all, putting my 99 t plate dark blue mica classic in autotrader today after unsuccessful attempts on pistonheads but what price should i realistically be asking for it to get a sale?? wife on maternity leave and only using the car now and again cant really justify keeping it need to buy a cheap runabout. anyway its one previous owner, genuine 50k, fssh ive got all the receipts and mots etc, superb condition, got 17" subaru wheels, recent toyo proxis all round, hi spec 310mm 4 pot conversion with new discs and ferodo pads, full stainless decat, leda coilovers, ecutek remap by andy forest running about 270 bhp, always run on v power. so what should i be asking for it??

  21. hi, after having my car mapped by andy f he told me to remove the snorkel/resonator on my classic to improve performance, ive bought the blanking plate for the inner wing from subaru just wondering if anyone else has done this to their classic and what the outcome was, obviously andy knows his stuff so trust him.
  22. managed to reverse into a concrete bollard which has put a slight kink in the middle of the bumper but not really noticable but has marked all the paintwork which is noticable so want to get it rubbed down and painted as its letting the car down. im in edinburgh looking for a good bodyshop which wont cost the earth.
  23. he asked what mods to fit on a classic and newage, cant u read?
  24. 101.9 at seafield road in edinburgh today, makes me sick. rip off britain.
