  1. So, I'll be looking out for you in H'burgh.....if I can spot you!! [] and if you're at home for long?
  2. After reading all the posts on this topic I went along to the Shell at Linwood to fill up. Asked about the V Power day......'Don't know anything about it!'. Then they both kind of laughed at the idea that I could mention such a thing!!! 'Doubt they would do that'....
  3. lol[] If you're married...also known as 'once in a blue moon day'!!! [:'(]
  4. Sorted [Y] After being a pain in the a**e and popping back a couple of times after test driving, Bill kindly took the time to bleed both front and back. Don't think I took him away from doing Andy's car too much! []
  5. Hello folks, Well, I've had my first experience with Greers and I'm very happy. The car went in the other day and the boys put Eibach lowering springs, ALK, uprated fuel pump and braided brake kit. Letting the springs settle but it's feeling better already. Great bunch of lads. [Y] I'll save my pennies and then I'll be back for a decatted downpipe and new filter. Saw Andy's lovely car there as well. Stunning in the 'flesh'. [] Thought it was finished??!! One question about the braided brake kit. I take it they should be fitted and work straight away? No bedding in as such? Daft question I'm guessing but it's just that I feel there's more travel with my brake pedal than there was with the standard set up. Thought they were supposed to be more positive? Braking feels ok, just that I'm pressing the pedal more I feel. Cheers
  6. Excellent! Makes me want to do it sooner rather than later and I've only had my car a few weeks! Must get saving!!!!
  7. How is the car after the remap? Does it make any difference replacing the y piece after the remap? Was speaking to Greers and they outlined the best plan for me....ie...new filter, free flow exhaust (down pipe) and then get it into Andy F within the week. Guess I'll save up and see if I can get it all done at the same time.
  8. Yeah, yeah!! [] Good pics. Was that a coach load of tourists that got an added extra on their trip near Faslane?
  9. Missed another one because I was on night shift. As some of you know, my beat is Helensburgh so it's a pity I didn't know you were heading up to Faslane or else I could've shown you my other car......a might Focus 1.8 Turbo Diesel!!!! []
  10. He'll get his!!! Hope he does pay up as planned because as good as it would be for him to get a criminal record, if it went to court in Scotland (with him having stopped paying you the £50 at a time), you would probably have to apply for a compensation order and his solicitor would cry poverty and he'd be allowed to pay you back at £5 a week or something equally as crap!! Hope it all works out.

  12. Hello and welcome. [Y] Nice looking car. As for exhausts.....I love the sound of my Prodrive....part of the PPP.
  13. Mibbies turn yer "blues"off mate, that might help.[] [] Ah, that'll be why then!!!!
  14. After joining SIDC, I looked forward to a bit of Scooby waving camaraderie but have only had one back! I seem to see a lot of different Scoobs in Ayrshire.....along the A737 but obviously not a lot of SIDC members! Kind of stopped doing it unless someone is waving at me for fear of feeling a daftie. [:'(]
  15. Going to Greer Sport for my first mods on Friday (Eibach springs and ALK) but reckon a trip to Andy F will be next on the agenda!!! How much actual bhp/torque gains can you expect to get?
  16. I'm actually Glengarnock, on the Longbar side rather than nearer to Kilbirnie. kilbirnie used to live in glengarnock in the flats next to the post office. ill keep an eye out for you. You may see me in the Tesco car park....not at the fuel pumps!
  17. I'm actually Glengarnock, on the Longbar side rather than nearer to Kilbirnie.
  18. I made sure I mentioned SIDC a few times!!! He said there were 2 or 3 cars belonging to members in at the moment. I'm hoping to come along to a meet as well, depending on shift work etc! Cheers
  19. Met up with some of the forum members at the weekend before they headed to Faslane to take Ron and Ethan out for a sightseeing trip and was delighted to hear that Greer Sport is actually about 1/2 a mile from my house! [] So, popped round there today for a chat and my first impressions were great. Really friendly and they obviously know their stuff. I've recenly posted on here about the back end of my car popping out on the Lugton to Beith road. Managed to do it again today at the exact same spot, only this time doing about 50mph instead of 60mph. I'll take their advice and take a bit of pressure out of my tyres so the Pirellis can do their job. Got chatting about improving the cars handling etc so my car is now booked in for next week to get Eibach springs and ALK fitted! My wife thinks the car is just going in to get braided hoses fitted! Let the mods begin!!!![]
  20. Droplinks and Geometry done Sounds like a plan! []
  21. I was going to give Greers a call about getting braided brake hoses put on (no chance of me doing them myself!) and I'll see what they say about the front/rear droplinks while the car's there! What about a front strut brace?? I'd like the easiest/cheapest initial mods that will help......just for starters!!! []
  22. I've been lying low, keeping quiet until I knew there were any more of 'us' on here! [] Especially as my username is.....well, my name!!!! Like I said, I try to lead by example where some guys/girls zoom about because they think they can. If he was genuinely going to a call then it's a bit harsh....but what I would be doing would be contacting my control room with, 'Speed camera activation at.......' then it gets put on the incident etc. If he wasn't responding to the call, well....if it was his beat, he should know where the cameras are!!! Just a bit off topic.......now you know I'm plod.....I'm gutted that I can't come up today to meet Ron at Faslane because Helensburgh is my office!!!!
  23. I'm surprised the camera was set at 48mph. Depends on the road layout etc. Even the guys I know from the road policing dept usually work on the speed limit + 10% + 10mph. We tend to find that we'll get hammered more, as an example, than a civvie committing the same offence. I certainly don't drive fast just because 'I can'....even though some cops do. I like to lead by example etc. I reckon if the press hadn't got hold of the story, he wouldn't have been removed from the dept.
  24. Hello and welcome to the forum. [Y] Tips...enjoy!!! []
