The plaque should be on the passenger suspension strut. It will just have 4 digits on it to say what the build number is.

I used a bit of african engineering and rigged up some rope under the car to suspend the box from. Made it easier for lifting back into place rather than having to lift it from the ground and also means no need to watch out for knocking a jack. Wish i had ramps

If im following someone with heir fogger on then either blind them with the driving lights...or just overtake them. My Rear fogger is sh!t so no chance of getting blinded by me as it never gets used. I do however sit at traffic lights with foot on brake rather than using h/brake like said above.

I have had mine for over 18months now ad has been used as a daily driver. Sailed through the mot's no problem. Only problem i have had was the 5th gear nut coming loose. Oh and seeing lots of shiney parts for sale that seem to attract my wallet a lot!!

It wont be the actuator as you would still hear the turbo spooling. More than likely that the turbo has seized. Try taking the inlet hose off and spining the compressor wheel by hand.

Pesonally wouldnt mate. Used them last year. Took ages and was not really impressed at all with the finished results. Castle Park Autobody in ellon are supposed to be really good though and they will be my choice for redoing my bumper soon.

Thanks for the replies. Thats a few votes for that i have had in a few forums. Heres hoping thats the cause. Next question....Any hints and tips for removing the gearbox?

Driving along today at around 40mph, went to select 5th, felt a bit dodgy and when i backed off the throttle it popped out of gear. When i select 5th gear it gives a little crunch like the synchromesh has departed and 5th gear still pulls fine if i hold the gearstick in place. But if i let go and take foot off throttle then it pops out again. Every other gear is still ok. Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be the problem? Looks like this weekend will be spent removing a gearbox Thanks in advance
