About garetho

  1. I meant to update this. Z4M departed and I went a little left field with this:
  2. Was looking to p/x my Z4M. More space and all that.
  3. Guys, Wondered if you could help me with something. I've found a Scooby Sti 300...actually, this one: It's a '09 4k miles 1 owner Any thoughts on price? Is it likely financial suicide (not the running costs, just the value after a year.)? Its potential worth next year? Not sure I could stomach £5k+ loss a year. TIA G
  4. PB are fully booked until November.
  5. Spotted this: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/662227.htm Strong money?
  6. Andy, fired you a PM G
  7. Well Im not filled with confidence
  8. Thanks for the replies guys. Dougie, there was a P1 on track at KH. I was in a 340R (green) so I guess I'm a sucker for rare cars. Currently have a Leon Cupra R for my daily runner so this would be making way for the P1. I've noticed a few people mention engine rebuilds. D all P1s need this and if so around what sort of mileage?
  9. Hi all, It's only recently I've been looking into Subaru ownership. While at KH yesterday I spotted the P1 which is one of my favs. Unfortunately the owner of the car never seemed to be around to ask some Qs. So I need one as a daily runner - 8k a year OK, so I understand a 1000 were made for the UK market. I've managed to locate two low mileaged ones (35k) for around the £12k mark but wonder if someone could advise me on a couple of things. What are they like to run? Parts expensive? I guess like all Scoobies they're pretty bomb proof...or is that only the newer ones? Advice/Crits please! Thanks G
  10. Thanks for the reply man. A couple of folk taken my comments to heart. Went to try the Evo on Sunday but although the dealer advertised as open, they were not. EVO X SST (paddle shift) looks cool but as you say there's the extra running costs. Looking at the option of the Sti sensibly, it may be more viable to wait a year for depreciation to do it's worse. I can imagine next year picking up a STi with 6K miles for around £20k/£21k. I just dont want to be the guy loosing nearly £10k in one year. As I said, very impressed with 08 Sti. Well put together package.
  11. And having come from a long line of Lotus's I was pretty impressed. It was ideal Impreza weather really (heavy rain) but the car handled like it was dry. Test drive was on a twisty backroad and I'm sure where my 340R would of spat me off the road in the wet the Impreza just held on tight. Interior is a big improvement from the older model and I do love the ability to change to S-Sport mode and diff changes. The new shape is as we all know - Marmite. You either love it or hate it but it's really grown on me and I like the fact it's come away from the big boot spoiler and recognisable scooby burble. All that just seemed a little burberry hat car park brigade but with this new Impreza it really seems to have grown up. The new impreza should have everything I need. Hatch for the dog, rear doors for the kids and the wife will drive it. I just need to convince myself that it's time to give up my daily driver and the toy in the garage and settle for one car. Question is...should I test drive the EVO X too.... My local dealer has one in the showroom with a few prodrive and STi 'plastic' bits added on but unfortunately it's £30490 which I think is a lot of cash for a car that's going to loose at least £7k in its first year. It's a stonking car at £25k...£30k just seems a little expensive. Thoughts/comments?
