I thought some people already had theirs? Haven't seen one myself but have heard people saying they've seen them out already.

Lovely car mate,i really am liking white at the minute - definately making a comeback methinks. One thing though,get those wheel weights on the inside!!! First thing i noticed when i went to view my STI,Subaru always put the weights on the outside.Dealer didn't even flinch when i screamed with anguish,said most people have them put on the inside. Anyway,good work.Makes me feel guilty evey time i see nice gleaming cars!

I've duplicated this on SN so apologies if you've read it already.... Sorry guys if these questions have been asked before and are very tedious to answer,i did do a search but didn't get any conclusive answers......... I have a MY07 STI with 550 miles on the clock (it's sooooooo hard running her in!!!). 1. Since i got it i've had this smell,can only be described as burning rubber.It defo aint the tyres and it's the same distinctive smell whether i've been tootling around or giving it a bit.It can be smelled inside and outside.Any ideas ? 2. When coming to a stop,the brakes seem to grind a little,not noticeable when braking harder,just as i'm actually coming to a complete stop.Is this normal ? 3.When weather cold,it seems quite hesitant and jerky,again,is this a 'feature' of the car ? 4. More of a novelty question this...When i change up a gear i can hear like a light whooshing noise,am i right in thinking this is the standard induction kit,doesn't sound like the turbo. It will be in for it's 1000 mile service soon so would be nice to have a few ideas of causes for 1,2 & 3 so i can mention it to the dealer. Be gentle ! [8-)]

Blimey,this thread has gone waaaaaaaay off topic! Oh,and fog lights on when it aint foggy is a pain in the arse,they're not cool - if they were they'd have 'em on the STI's ! As for people who have fog lights on during the day,gggrrrrrrrrrrrrr [:@] I'll get me coat.

Hi all, Anybody know what size the front and rear speakers are in the 56 STI? All i know is that the rear ones are smaller. Any ideas of some good replacements ? Cheers

[:$] Er 2500rpm you say???? I'm afraid i did a 'little' more than that when i test drove it.It's low mileage so i spose i can redeem myself! 2500 rpm sounds a bit lame,thought it'd be more around 4000 rpm as previously mentioned ?

Hi all. Just wondered before picking my STI up whether there is any need to run both the engine and the brakes in ? It's only done 150 miles so should i be treating gently for a few hundred miles yet ? Cheers

Thanks for the kind words everybody. Don't have any pics of it clean at the mo.Going to see it again on Thursday after it's cleaned,it was a bit dirty when i drove it - will try and take some pics then or failing that when i get the beast home next week. Will post some as soon as i have them.

Just put a deposit down on a 56 reg STI.Took it out on Saturday and was VERY impressed,just awesome. Got a good deal and obviously a good time to buy a 56 - only done 200 miles as a demo. So,i'm afraid to say you'll be seeing more of my drivel around these parts!! [] Renny

Cheers I've had a look around ebay but as i'm not all that clued up in the ways of car audio these days,i'm not sure which are good and which are ordinary to be honest. While i'm at it,anybody know any good direct replacement speakers?!

Hi, I'm currently scouting around looking for an STI to buy and came across a dealer that had a few in and it stated they had electrically operated folding wing mirrors.Unfortuneatley i've forgotten who the dealer was so unable to phone them to confirm this. Is this correct and was this an option,couldn't see anything on the official Subaru website about this. Cheers

Cheers Pauls,it's on the WR1 that i originally saw them - i think they're superb looking. Just trying to imagine them on a grey STI is difficult. Nice car mate.I was actually looking for one of them for a while but couldn't find any reasonably priced low mileage ones.

Or an umbrella !!!!!!! Think the PPP would be pushing it to be honest,they've already offered me another £500 off the price. I like the look of the of the P-FF7 whells in Bright Flitter.Maybe a discount on them would be good! Not sure what they'd look like with an Urban Grey though,not sure they'd stand out enough.Anybody got a picture of the said wheels ?

Paul N - Car is priced quite well,56 reg with 150 miles for £22500 and getting a reletively fair price for mine.I'ts an ex-demo so tey'll be wanting rid - was thinking of bartering for some extras,any ideas? padtwo - Is your Alpine head unit a Subaru fit or was it an aftermarket one you bought elsewhere? Hi all, Great forum people. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me please... I'm looking to go and view a 56 reg STI at the weekend and was wondering if there are any particular things i should be looking for or questions i should be asking the dealer. I've heard the stereo isn't the best and was wondering what people have replaced the stock head unit with and whether it was main dealer fit or not - it's not something that's critical in the purchase you understand,but it's something i'd probably get the dealer to upgrade or do myself at a later date. Who do people find are the most sympathetic insurance company as far as quotes go,i've been getting ridiculous quotes to be honest,some aren't even quoting me.The best i've had is around £760 .
