  3. As title, after over a year of house moves, financial constraints etc, the scoob is back on the road!! Picked it up last night and seems to be running well, but it will need a good run to loosen everything up again. Also, as its been standing out in the elements for nearly 3 months, it looks like Shecht, but blue dragon magic will sort that . Now the proud wearer of : discs/pads all round, 2 new front hubsetc, cat down pipe, and odds an sods. There are a couple of other minor things to be done shortly, but otherwise its fine. Hope to see some of you west lothian scoobs out an about soon!! BIG Thanks to: Scottish Subarus( for parts mailed swiftly) but mainly to Gus The Bus for his help, inspiration and perspiration. See yas soon Iain

  5. It used to be called The Italian Corner years ago when i worked up there ( knew the owners as was in the trade at the time) but it has prob changed its name by now( as have most of the pubs and restaurants in perth!! cheers Iain
  6. Derek, please pass on my heartfelt condolences to your mum and dad, colin, yourself and all family. Not only was it a pleasure and a privelege to have known Mr C(as i called him), but to have enjoyed my (long) phone chats with him.As always they were hilarious. Theres not really much nore i can add to that other than to say i will miss him. Kind regards Iain.
  7. Derek, i also got a text from colin last night, and i can only say i am very very saddened to hear this news, my thoughts go out to all of you in the family. Kind regards Iain
  8. I can fully sympathise with the way youre feeling the now mate, my scoobs been off the road since january, due to various house ree-locations(long story) and the lack of finances that go with it.Put it into a local garage about 2 months ago for new discs/pads, a cat d/pipe an an m.o.t, they discovered both hubs/bearings were fubar as well so with the bill sitting at over 1k plus more to come, ive been thinking is it all woth it? BUT... i love my car and am going to persevere and get it back on the road... Dont give up on it mate. cheers iain
  9. You do realise that that bliddy foam absolutely kills your paintwork btw, strips all the goodness out of it!! P.S Do they still make sponges for washing cars? Iain
  10. NOt exactly breking/losing things so much as being told things are broken. Put the scoob into the garage to get new discs/pads all round, a cat d/pipe on and an m.ot. No problems? NO chance!! was then told that the o/side hub assembly and bearing was fubar. Parts ordered...sorted. WRONG. next phonecall.... sorry sir the n/side hub assembly and bearing are also fubar. At this point the bill had shot up from around the 400 quid mark to just on the 1k!!! and still the other bit to be fixed. So all in all not the best week ive had. p.s Cars still not fixed as ive run out of funds. Iain

  21. Okay mate, thank you, will check this in the morning. will also have a look at the ignition barrel wiring also. cheers iain
  22. Thanks for the help chaps, much appreciated. Euan im not sure what the fusable link looks like tbh( useless at these things). Battery is okay as tried it on my van and it worked nae bother. My ignition key wont be the problem i dont htink as it has been de-chipped to allow for the gsm alarm to be fitted( have already checked with manufacturer an they say the alarm/immob wont be affected by a flat battery, and wont affect the electrics of the car either). Iain
