  1. He no longer does the coating now :(

I know Peter don't know what happened but assume he went out of business, he just vanished. Shame as it has lasted much better than some much more expensive coatings and also works. The coating is a couple of years old now and looks virtually the same apart from the odd scratch from the gravel traps and a couple of misadventures at doune.

  3. If exhaust parts are of interest why not see if wullie at meercat is up for a group buy on custom exhaust parts. I would be happy to see if its possible and I am sure Peter would also have a word with Wullie.

  4. Had a fair bit of work done on the roadf car and race car by Wullie down at Meercat including a full custom rotated up and downpipe. Its a bit out of the way but well worth travelling. I will be having a side exit exhaust done on the race car and will be heading down to Meercat for that.

  5. The offshore industry is the bizarrest industry I have ever known. A friend who lives in Aberdeen and is also an Aircraft Engineer tried to get a job offshore. He found that despite there being more jobs than people to fill them many companies were very reluctant to take someone from another industry regardless of whether the transferable skills were almost an identical match to some engineering jobs offshore. He did as I had done, and produced documentation that showed the skills match and sent it to various agencies without any success.I went through this myself and gave up and remained with Aircraft.

  6. There is still plenty material you can still take out of the door and save a bit more weight. Its definately a nice wee job removing the door bars lots of this :brickwall: At least you only had 2 doors to do lol. Or just do what I have done now go fibreglass ;)

  7. Tell her it could be much much worse if you decided to use the car for sprints and hills so in fact the expenditure you have is more than reasonable.

Also ask her for your trousers back

  8. I would stick with Alyn at AS Performance I have been buying parts from Alyn for the road and race car for years and the service is excellent. There are discs and then there are discs! Alyn will give you an honest assessment with no obligation and his prices are very keen. PF Z rated pads are an excellenet all round pad but not cheap, PF01 are also good pads but the dust eats wheels as I can testify to, some of the newer pagid compounds are very effective and not too expensive and kinder to wheels. I would also advise staying away from discs that are drilled all the way through. It really depends what you want to do with the car, I have groved discs from Alyn, not expensive discs all round on the road car with PF Z rated pads on Brembo calipers and the brakes are more than good enough for road use. Only reason I have the PF pads is they were on the race car when i took the Brembo's off, if changing on the road car I would prob go to a pagid compound.
