£400 is a hefty price tag, i charge in the region of £100 for a full exterior detail. Advantage of spending 8-12 hours getting your paintwork sorted is, it is easier to keep your car looking its best from minimal effort after that. I just need to spend 20mins giving my car a wash and it come up like new everytime as i have spent the time with polish wax etc You don't need to spend a great deal of money to get your car looking good but to protect it i recommend the more money the better if you don't have time on your hands. A recent test was done on my car with various waxes ranging from £10 to £500+ on different panels and after a couple of weeks the cheaper waxes were near gone but the higher end ones are still doing a great job. the most expensive wax was applied to my spoiler and have not had a wash mit near it in 2 months. I cannot stress enough to people not to polish their cars all the time as polish does remove clearcoat and eventually paint if all clearcoat is removed. The audi bonnet i detailed was 18 years old so had no clearcoat left on it and when i was polishing it with a white applicator pad it ended up the same colour as the car. Good polish is also cheaper than paying a bodyshop to rectify any faults in your paint. Again the audi bonnet i done i a great example of what can be done and for those who did not see it here is the 50/50 Also some scratch removal on my Alison's clio using a machine polisher Is spending hours on end worth it? YES

You should only polish your car 2-4 times a year max. spending a whole day on your car is worth the effort as it makes it easier to maintain. top up with wax as often as you like as it does not damage paint. I could ramble on for a while about detailing cars but not going to bore everyone.

Well i got back monday afternoon and that is me just recovered from the weekend. Train was at 10:30am sat 1st beer opened 10:31 and drank til 3:30 sunday morning. Back to hotel at 4 woke at 9am on the train 11am and drinking again til 2am monday morning. Was a good night in newcastle, was handcuffed to a bar for 30 mins with a kilt and nothing else on then got my legs and privates waxed. Then the usual crazy shots of alcohol etc. Sunday was not in edinburgh as planned, went out in markinch instead as it was some kind of highland games on so new it would be busy. Have some pics but to embarrased to post them up. Thanx everyone for the b/day wishes.

I'm away to jump on the train down to newcastle for my stag/birthday weekend. Up the road tomorrow stop off at edinburgh and have a night out there sunday. will be back home monday with a very sore head. Bye []
