  1. Yeah you get idiots like that in montrose. Glad i have a 3 door at the moment
  2. Def not a ned car mate, people who say those things are just jealous of what you have. I get commented about my RS all the time, people saying it's an old banger. Just because it's 18 years old doesn't make it a banger. There is no rust on it and has never been welded, it's in better condition than some newer cars i have seen going about. Ignore it mate
  3. What about £10,000 for a 1997 P1 with 38,000 on the clock? cheap or fair?
  4. Have just been on moneysupermarket and cheapest quote given was £540 from bell. Thanx everyone Iain.
  5. Just went onto performance direct for a quick quote for an sti type ra. I'm 25 with 7 years no claims, convictions or points. Car would be parked in driveway and will only cover less than 6000 miles in the year. They quoted me £1870 fully comp. wtf Gonna give a few more companys a try tomorrow on the phone, hopefully i can get a better quote than that if not then it looks like i may have to consider non turbo.
  6. congrats mate. best of luck to you both.
  7. I have had a look on www.fgperformance.co.uk and there is a few type ra's on there but are so much cheaper than the one in autotrader should i stay well clear of this place? anybody know what kind of rep they have? Thanx Iain
  8. As above, have spotted it in this weeks auto trader. V reg, 53,000 miles, world rallye blue, adjustable centre diff, i/c water spray, roof vent, over 300bhp £8000. As you all know i'm a virgin when it comes to subaru's so i'm asking if this would be a fair price for this kind of car and what exactly does type ra mean anyway? Would it be more sensible to just get a wrx for my first subaru or go the whole way? Thanx Iain
  9. VBH over bonnet of sti
  10. tough decision, VBH or Impreza sti
  11. depending on what time you would be leaving i will head down with you if you don't mind an rs cramping your style. Will try to keep up.
  12. Ok mate i will look out for you (and listen lol) Have been looking at a few so would be nice to get some opinions on what they are like. Have always wanted a blue sti so will try not to drool too much when i see your car.
  13. pm replied.
  14. I will be at this trying to sell my series 2 so if any of you see me come up and introduce yoursleves as it would be great to meet some of you. You could give me advice on what to look for etc when buying a subaru.
  15. Thanx, you want to buy it or swap for a scoob lol
  16. Yeah red with a cage in the back. I was drooling, can't wait to get one and join the family.
  17. On my way back from looking at a few scoob's at town & county in aberdeen yesterday my fiancee and i stopped at her mums in laurencekirk for a cuppa. On our way out sitting in the central reservation of dual carriageway 5 or 6 scoobs past, just wondering if any of you guys saw me in my rs? All the cars looked mint and makes me want to get one even more now.
  18. Noticed the ava sticker on the window. My car is chipped from there, seems like a good place. Have found a good example on autotrader i hope. gonna phone the guy and hopefully go see it tomorrow.
  19. cant figure out how to get a link up. Its on autotrader site for £6,200 Is that a fair price for the miles etc. Anybody know the car?
  20. Stunning example there mate. Would go for around 6k at the moment with that kind of mileage. Had mine for sale a week now and still no phone calls. will give it another week then i might have to drop the price. Not having much luck finding a scooby either
  21. Just for you dan
  22. Thanx for the warm welcome and advice. I'm very interested in rs grants 99 white impreza. Seems like a really good example he has. I'm not after huge power just a nice clean car as i'm a cleaning bufty. The car i choose will be used as a daily driver so will need to be in good working order and not a thrashed boy racers car. Budget is about 10k including insurance. I'm 25 with 7 years no claims. Got a quote from greenlight for a 2001 y plate wrx i looked at last week for £750 which i thought was quite reasonable. unfortunatly the car was sold when i went back so the hunt goes on. I have e-mailed RS grant and replied to his post so will wait and see. Thanx again, Iain.
  23. Hi everyone, I'm currently trying to sell my series 2 escort rs turbo whilst looking to buy my first subaru. Could someone please give me any information on what to look out for etc when buying one. Thanx in advance Iain.
