Thanks Gus, Had a quick Look. Doesn't offer much more than 12 bhp but is it worth the £100 nicker or so. In me Fiesta XR2i days it would have been a blast. But already having 230 odd is it worth it - I don't know? A remap is a few bob also though. Is Duncan at Hypertech the man to speak to ?

I have seen a few induction kits on Ebay recently and wondered if they are a worthwhile add on. I am no engine doctor to say the least, but just asking if they are worth the money (ranging from about £50 to £250) against better power and/or efficiency. Thanks for any help.

Horlicks St3ph3n You were walkin' out of the station looking at yer fuel bill, you didn't see me arrive ! []

I tried to delete this posting as it was in reply to PlaySatan2 but the software wouldn't let me. Sorry peeps] Ok. I'll get me coat. [:$]

Chavettes mentality history : http://www.boreme.com/boreme/funny-2006/mr...ts-chavs-p1.php Full dress code for this "driver" was - the Jeans very lowely suspended to show off her belly button and McDonalds Ar$e (I would have used the word Naval - but I didn't think the word appropriate) I think this was to impress her boyfriends. And the 15 earrings down one ear, mobile clip in the aforementioned jeans and her nail polish...

In Airdrie today sitting at traffic lights, A taxi stops on the corner - illegally, and this Chavette behind him can't wait for him to move off and swings around him. I'm thinking - this is close, this is very close - YOUR TO F****** CLOSE (then a bump and she's off !) As she passed me window I start mouthing STOP you - well you know the rest of the expletives (not that the words STUPID BINT ever crossed my lips) But she did stop ! and Fab 1 (Jen me missus) was reaching for the pen and pad kept in the car. Rolling down her window, the Chavette says "Did I hit you ?" Knowing I'm onto Chavland territory here , I said, lets look at the damage and stuff like - "did you not feel your car hitting mine."and "do you have a bump at every corner - which she sniggered at !) So, onto inspecting the damage, She climbs out her Peaugot 202 or summit. She is about 13 , clutching the standard issue mandatory mobile phone (staring at it as we walk to my car) and with more make up on her coupon like no mans business. Well unless your a builder. Damage : Chavette 0 , My scooby 1. Ok it was a small 1 being just a scrape, but still a p!$$er. Says Chav : A cannae see any dents (no, cause its raining and it's a scrape you dopey heffer). Now down to claiming insurance 'cos the cars gettin' fixed. I have to pay the garage (probably Gav - scoobyseller555) £350 excess then my insurance company has to sue her insurance company to re-claim. Man what a freakin' mess already. Why could she not just have waited ! Rant over. 2nd bump was into St3ph3n ! ! of all people. Thankfully we were just where scoobies tend to be (at the petrol station) and no women were involved. ie. no bumps - just a quick natter. Good seeing you again St3ph3n.

Nae luck S4NDY. I'm staying clear of this one for the fear of colliding with AlanG and causing nuclear fusion. [] Know nought about engines but it sounds really expensive. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Whats the average? Forget discounts, premiums , age of yer car, your age , your history (important one though) Lets just find the cheapest car insurer. Alan. Remember folks. Claims do need a lot of paperwork to validate your case, but insurance companies dont like paperwork. especially if its problematic.

I have no idea mate, I signed the contract many moons ago. I think it was roadside Relay. (prefer on-road rally actually). For me and Fab 1 (as I put her on the policy also) it was £115 a year. Although now, after the SIDC discount it's £97 a year ( 1 off Direct Debit / year payment) I called them once (Well twice actually when the weather was -17 degrees and they couldn't get their own motors started and failed to turn up which I felt was an excuse but a day off had to be taken) but, the calibra I was driving at the time developed a severe fuel filter leakage. I was sliding all over the road, whilst watching the fuel guage go down from full to nearly empty on a journey from Hamilton to Cumbernauld ! The fuel was pouring out of the filter (underside Chassis) and causing the back wheels to slide. But the AA turned up (within ½ an hour) at Cumbernauld and had the right bit of gear on board to tackle the problem. A bit of hose pipe that he had taken off the previous victim of breakdown (radiator puncture) and 2 cable ties, and he took out the filter and bridged it with this hosing. Got me home ok. If the car was entirely Fecked then a tow home , lets say from the Sooth of Englandshire still will not show on yer next bill. I'm impezad at the result from the AA. Alan.

Well, I phoned the AA today and it took about 2 mins on the dog and bone to get 15% reduction on my AA renewal and it gets better, the discount is permanent ... Well chuffed.
-
And AlanK too ... Looks like yev got David McCallum syndrome. (Us older fogeys might get the joke .. )
-
Cal, ye need tae start takin' yer vitamins. Yer lookin a bit peeky mate. []

noticed from TG that we can get 15% off AA membership if you are a SIDC member. just called them up and got the discount off my policy - t'was due for renewal start of Feb Imy, Splendid find there. I will be calling tomorrow... I spend £115 on the AA between me and Fab 1's cars. Renewal due soon also. Total saving of I reckon £17.25 (off for another Indian take-away now). Ps. Sorry Imy. By Jings tho, thats almost ½ the subscription fee !

Email sent Phil. []

A card would be great Phil (she is planning on getting a forester soon), but we would have to pay for Jens avatar as it wouldn't be fair on others here.
-
What do yer expect - were Scottish [:$] But it would save in the long run as we wouldn't need two "True goat Grip" mags ..
-
I've just goat tae laugh 4hero. Superb ROFL.

Thats a good point Spooks. I am new here but understand figures and effort. I only got me Scooby in September and received me first "True Grip" in October - and the latest one Today. Lovely Glossy tabloid I must admit. But, having a look at the SIDC site (and not knowing how long it's been run for) does beg the question, why have the Scottish Scoobies (by postings) have almost a 257% better posting rate than the Sooth of the Boarders (or the site in total) ? Doesn't really add up. Talking Cack again. Off to get an Indian. Sorry Imy.
-
Ahh. Well done that man, thanks for the info.
-
Nae luck mate. But the post office is still as mince as it was before Chrimbo (I use it a lot). The front cover is interesting though, British No. Plate on the scoob (Welsh rally maybe ?) I think that Graeme (G.mac) posted a video of Petter Solberg in practice and the exhaust was on the right hand side if looked from behind. Just a rally mod or is it next gen scoob ? Oh, and look at the glow from the tailpipe on page 35. No need for Graems Vid now as I flick through it again.
-
I heard somewhere that there are more English people in Scotland than Scottish. Is this true anyone ?
-
Ahh, But how much to buy and what to sell for Gav. That is the question. []

And after youve hit "reply" remember to use the "Back" button on IE6/7 to ensure the thread doesn't get even bigger with a possible blank page. Have seen this happen on other forums..
