  1. Well thats me back in from getting the car mapped and I have the worlds biggest cheesy grin right now. :D

The car now looks to be putting out about 310 bhp and 300 ft/lb torque now which is a nice we bit of power. Power comes in earlier and now it pulls all the way to the redline. Best surprise of the day though was the car already had an ecutek licence so I saved some money woho!!

Thanks Andy for doing the electronic magic and thanks to all the mad lot in the OSIDC who are pretty much responsible for this happening. If I hadn't met you lot who knows... maybe I'd actually have some money in my accounts instead of me modifying the car.... scratch that i'll stick with the car.

I really don't see me doing any more power upgrades any time soon as i would be delving into gearbox and internals territory however with the money saved i do feel some more whiteline goodies calling me.... :D

Now going to go rest for a bit as I may have taken a slight (ok major) detour on the way home via the A708 (think september 2006 and June 2007 runs) just for the fun of it and im now shattered. Yes it did eat what was left of the v-power but I didn't care.

    Ian.

  2. well mine is my daily driver. nearly 30 mile round trip each day and boy does it hurt the wallet. normally drive around faily sedate to save fuel but sometimes you just have to give it a bit of beans. if i could afford to run and insure a second car i would.

however i know the costs and i still chose to run a scoob. as much as it hurts when the petrol, the miles and the servicing bills come in its worth it for the moment you hit fool boost in a clear country road and just feel fantasitc that the car under you is in fact yours and not just something you look at on a poster.

lost count of what my car has cost in nearly two years. don't really care either. :D :D

  3. What are you getting done?

Got the car serviced, braided lines and a decat fitted. nothing fancy. top notch work was great just chatting with them about the cars in general and a good excuse for a day off work.

  4. was there when you were on the phone to him. told me about your problems with other places. it all sounded good what he was telling you so hopefully the guys over there can get it set up for you.

  5. Well there you go! That simple! Can't beleive I never knew that, such an embarressment.

    Thanks though :banana2:

Remind me which one of us is a computing lecturer again mate :gay:

Mind you like everything its only easy if you know it mate.

I like that view for monitoring cpu usage when im torture testing for stability. easy to move to a corner and forget about.

  6. Big thanks to Bruce's Taxi Evo driver at KH today. I had an embaressing off and got my undertray full of kitty litter and he kindly let me use his trailer to get under my car to clean it out and offered tools and anything I needed - top man! Also, thanks to Nananki for helping me with the clean up too, cheers mate.

No worries mate. Cheers for the pax laps after we got it back out on the road again. Might still be a good idea to remove the undertray completly to make sure you've removed all of KH from it.

  7. the tail lights are better than the hatch... but that's about it...

I'd be interested to see an STi saloon...

Don't think the sti version will happen. the saloon models are all manufactured in the states (so build quality for the win) rather than in japan where I believe all STI's are built.

  8. i never posted at the time beacuse i guess i really didn't know what to say and with time i really still don't.

that day was so emotional and will live on in our memories but the memories of colin will live even longer.

thanks for brining this back from the forum depths.

  9. iain your the only man i know who would find a way to make water in the middle of a desert and then use it to wash your car rather than drink it.

your mad i tell you but i have to admit the cars look a lot better once you and your fellow detailers get a hold of them.

now if only there was a way to detail rust and big dents out a car i'd be sorted!
