About callum_winton

  1. I put together a video of some landscape photos I took recently. Thought you may like a gander (11 mins) I also did a wee stop motion video too (2 mins).....
  2. Ta The Kubrick one was indeed a Vagas hotel - good spot I had approached the SIDC so that members could order a gallery canvas or their own picture on canvas and get a 10% discount on either. Was a while ago and I can't remember if they replied yes or not. I know there is a member discount with some other sites/clubs e.g. surreyscoobies.co.uk fordsierraclub.co.uk gtr.co.uk lancerregister.com I have some pictures up in an exhibition at the moment. They're showing as of this weekend in the Swan Theatre in High Wycombe until the 5th October: http://www.wycombeswan.co.uk/ There's a couple of extra ones not on the CanvasMyArt site, including some client pictures
  3. Thanks guys. I used my Nikon D700 and a couple of strobes for these. I knew how I wanted the finals to look and how I was going to post-process them and so I set everything up to suit. If you like them then feel free to have a look at my facebook page http://fb.callumw.com
  4. Thanks. Nice to know I'm in the right ballpark tho (it's my first car shoot)
  5. Make sure you have LOTS of petrol. I went through easily 30+litres of fuel in 2 sessions (about 4-5mpg) The last thing you want is fuel surge at full tilt powering through a corner
  6. I did 2 TRAX sessions in 2007 - videos are on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/c11umw
  7. I was called to take some pictures of one of Greenwood Racing's cars. I turned up an it turned out to be the Gumball 3000 promotions car which is privately owned by Gumballer Andrew Brimecome So I took the pics of the car which GRD prepared for his entry to Gumball 3000 next may. Thought you may like to see some of them
  8. One for you budding photographers out there. A chance to get ahead of the others in the SIDC photo comps in here If you have an interest in photography, then you may already be familiar with Pro photographer Bert Stephani and his Confessions of a Photographer videos on Youtube and his subsequent setting up of the LIME site (Learn, Inspire, Motivate, Experience) with his friend Pieter Van Impe He ran some workshops from his home in Belgium, which I couldn't attend as I was working, but I saw he did a workshop in Oslo - Norway, so I asked if he would come over here. He said yes as long as I set up the locations. To cut a long story short, I have the location and he's booked his flights and coming over in early September It will be his 2 day lighting workshop and if it's a success then he may come back with his 5 day workshop next year Here's the link for more info on Bert and his 2 day UK workshop: http://www.callumw.com/event.php
  9. Posted a topic relating to this here: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=114886
  10. Hi All Still no car back yet but have been keeping myself busy in the meantime while off the road Just finished putting together a website for a client, thought you may like to see http://www.saathay.com (Comments/feedback welcome) All their items are hand made in silk, cotton or wool and all Fare Trade and is dealt with directly with the people making them. Did a comparison to similar items (out of curiosity) and no-one else does anything hand made in these materials for anywhere near these prices. They're exhibiting at the Love Your Home Show at Sanddown Park in Esher on the 19/20th this month so popped down to see the products firsthand and the pics on the site really don't do them justice (something the owner will be rectifying soon) Apparently the show attendance today was dire and the promotors need a major kick in the marketing ass. So, to get some people down to the show, Saathay have said that they'll give a 10% discount to anyone who say's the magic words "SIDC" Saathay are also giving away a custom made embroydered silk bedspread as part of the show's promotion. Worth a fortune .... seriously Love Your Home Show ... you know you wanna
  11. Hi So far we've had no donations from the SIDC which is shocking [:'(] C'mon guys 'n gals. So far the FSOC (Sierra Owners Club) members are ahead and have been quite generous dispite not having much to spare (I know for a fact that some that donated are unemployed) and it's kinda making you guys look bad. Who'd have thought the SIDC was full of skinflints [:$] Please donate a little, even if it's just pennies. Help change someone's life [mo]
  12. Ta boke C'mon people ... sponsorship required.... even just £1 will do Lets show them what the SIDC members are really made of.....
  13. Hi all I'm taking part in a Classic Car Rally and all proceeds go to a disabled children's charity called Whizz-Kidz. There's a bit more info on the event as well as a link from this page if you want to know more about the charity we're doing the Rally for: Even if you can only give a pound then please do as it's for such a worthy cause The best bit is that if you pay UK tax then the charity gets an extra 28% on top of your donation. How cool is that I hope to be taking some video footage as well as stills to show what we get up to (edited highlight obviously) I'll also be allowing company sponsorship space on the Scoob, so if anyone knows (or owns) a company that will put a good dollop of cash into the kitty in return for stickerspace on the car then please point them at that page above Thanks all
  14. Took lots of video. Seriously sexy cars (and the Fuel girls weren't that bad either []) Vids here to see: http://www.youtube.com/c11umw Email on it's way [] Were you in the Blue WRX that's in the vid for a bit?
  15. Well I've been to Rustmaster and had me cavities filled (ooer missus) and thought I'd share the experience I rolled in to the workshop where I met Michael who was pre-heating the wax while waiting for me to arrive. He explained what he was going to do and a few ins and outs of the process and answered any questions I had. I was happy leaving the car with him and so I set off to go make a nuisance of myself in the nearby Hatfield Galleria. Michael buzzed me 30 mins before completion to let me know the car was ready and so I came back to find a very black faced Ozzy and a very happy car. Michael explained a few things about post-treatment such as how to remove the excess cavity oil (dead easy) as well as informing me that my wheelnuts were only finger tight on my front left wheel  when he was taking it off, so something to watch.... I was expecting a certain amount of burning as the exhaust caught overspray when the underbody hardwax was applied, so it was no shock when the car started smoking in between motorway stints It looked like it was on fire with smoke wisping out the bonnet scoop (did the same when I had the exhaust wrap put on) The car smelt like burning tar - then after a while it just smelt like underseal and then it was better. If you got out and came back it was like sitting in a jar of turps, but it would clear as soon as you got moving Moving it's fine, it's just when you're at lights or a junction you notice it. Early days yet and it still has to properly harden and burn off the exhaust so it'll be a few days until it returns to normal again But I'm happy that it's been rustproofed and should lengthen the life of the Scoob alot As a side note - I was filling the tank in the boot and got some water on the exhaust and it was hissing and spitting from the heat - so it looks like the overspray is also acting as a heat insulation on the exhaust as the tailpipe never normally gets quite that hot. Bargain :thumb: .. and it's a bit quieter in the cab too. Not alot, but definately a noticeable the drop in tyre roar from the Yoko's I haven't yet had a proper look under the car, but from what I've seen it looks good :thumb: I'd recommend it - even as a one off (although I suspect you should 'top up' the cavity oiling every 2 years or so) Give him a call. Decent bloke and one of the few things that is guaranteed to preserve the body of your car as well as improve resale value Rustmaster- Waxoil Protection
