  1. I had just over 10,000 points and realised they hadn't sent any for over a year. So a couple of months ago I emailed them and after about a month finally got £40 for 8000 points. Then last week got another £11 sent through for the rest. That's my points decimated so will have to start building them up again. Luckily I can fill up the works vehicles I'm using and get those points too.

  2. agree with scooby222 wondering if there is enough indicator showing. could not be bothered with any problems that may ensue with police myself.
Certainly seems to be enough showing on mine but I did think of something else. As I got my clear marker replacements from the good old US of A they are actually indicators so could change the wires over from the side repeaters to the markers and they'd light up instead and would be more visible at the front.
  3. i am thinking of buying a private plate but some coppers might find it offensive it,s to go on my scooby

    D16 COP

what do you guys think it will be a nice theif deterent good chance of it getting pulled any thoughts

I don't find it offensive and don't think any of my colleagues would either. Personally I wouldn't want anything on my own car which let on what I did... basically cos there are times I have to park it and leave it unattended. What with all sorts of morons out there with 'Scoob envy' not to mention the 'we hate all cops' brigade, red rag to a bull comes to mind. But of course there's no saying you'll attract unwanted attention so the choice is yours. On a theme I've worked with colleagues PC Constable and PC Copp so you can imagine the ribbing they get.
  4. Having discovered I was due a shed load of vouchers as they hadn't sent me any since November 2007 I emailled them and this was the reply....

"Thank you for your correspondence regarding the Shell Drivers’ Club.

I did point out that my address details are the same as they've always been and to where the last two lots of vouchers were sent. Can't quite understand why they didn't just notify me of the problem as they seem to have been aware and merely waited for me to pipe up. Anyhoo, I suppose I should be greatful they replied quickly and will at least send me something now.

  5. Having filled up last night was having a blether with the wifey at the Shell garage when I mentioned some people were getting vouchers but not everyone. She then told me she had noticed from 'behind the counter' that most people paying with vouchers only had small amounts. Basically she';d noticed people with less than a tenner's worth were pithing up but very few folk with much more. She was also aware of others who use their cards a lot and would have loads of points hadn't all got their vouchers. No proof of any conspiracy theories but the suggestion was they may be holding back the bigger payouts and only volunteering the lesser value vouchers for some reason. Just thought it was an interesting observation from someone who deals hands on with the vouchers ;) .

  6. I was getting them regularly every quarter but haven't received anything for the last two quarters. Waiting now till the end of September and going to chase them up. I think I've got about 10,000 points built up now so should be worth something.

  7. A good day was certainly had by all, cars all looked the business with SIDC being well represented at a predominently US muscle event. Cheers to Wayne for his prep assistance as my wheels are still gleaming. Some great pic's Al but I know others were clicking away so hopefully get some others posted up.

  8. what about a meeting point b4 hand?
Good idea. I know we've to be there before 10am but we don't wanna turn up about 10 with the punters do we? Was thinking we'd probably need a bit of time to get in place for a final wipe down before the event opens. Being late entries we don't want to be late arrivals too.
  9. am sure that will b ok . its not like theres doing a topless car wash.
Not so much of 'One Night at McCool's' but rather 'An Efterneen At Inchberry'
  10. Glad to here things didn't go wrong at the junction mate. Reminds me though, I bought those HEL braided lines on the group buy but haven't got them fitted yet, so will have to get on to that next.

  11. decided to do the engine first will do some styling roundabout january although the misses doesn't know this yet :D which i'll mean my name will be down for more diy to keep in her good books :D
Great start and sounds about right, that's certainly the formula I use and keeps the missus happy. Keep us updated with ya results once fitted and remapped.
  12. With the bugeye often viewed as the least aesthetically pleasing of the marque, owners like me (that’s of a shy and introvert disposition) really need the moral support of their peers before feeling sufficiently filled with the personal confidence required to take the bug on the open road and under the public gaze..... not!

Everyone knows bugs are best, so cheers for the positive comments :D .

  13. TBH I started with styling as it didn't look the way I wanted it. A huge front scoop, huge rear spoiler, colour coded sills, fog light covers, Prodrive grills, new wheels and painted callipers did the job nicely. Then like everyone else has said, a de-cat zorst and a performance panel filter. At the moment the only original piece of the exhaust system left (apart from the manifold/headers) is the down pipe, with the rest being de-cat s/s (incl up-pipe) with Scoobyworld 'Race Box' back box, so a decent burble but not too loud. As for the brakes, I've stuck with standard disc's with mid-range Black Diamond Predator pads. They're certainly a bit better than standard but I get a lot less brake dust from them. Then again if I wore lead boots instead of a chequered bonnet or took her on the track I'd maybe have to consider upping the brakes a bit more. Finally suspension, again standard spec KYB gas shocks but with Whiteline Flatout springs and front and rear Whiteline solid Drop Links. The Drop Links were the last to be fitted and I was a bit sceptical but omg what a difference, well worth it imho. All of this saw my MY01 bugeye jump from 215bhp/215 torks to 265/270 when mapped by Andy Forrest.

Now having taken Andy's advice I recently fitted Samco silicone pipes including the Y pipe and a Zero Sports air intake pipe and with those on I can defo feel a smoother and quicker spool up.

So what's left for now? Just got to fit my HEL braided brake lines I recently bought on the group buy and my sport-cat hi flo down pipe. Then off to AndyF's again next month for tweaking. Hoping to get close to 280+/280+ but we'll see.

  14. Looking good mate. :D What lowering springs do you have as its sitting perfect!
It's sitting on Whiteline Flatout springs. Not sure but |I think they lowered it about 25mm, as it was previously on Pi springs and they lowered it 30mm and were defo a wee bit lower.
