  1. Just got the car back from Dunc at Hypertech. Had the block honed out and new forged pistons dropped in. A few other goodies as well just to strengthen things up, like replacement shells, an uprated oil-pump to mention the main ones. Few other bits and bobs, but can't mind what they are.

I have to keep it below 3k for the first 500 miles, then progressively load it upto 1000 miles. Somewhere in there I need to get it mapped for the VF34 and Sports-cat Downpipe as I set it back to standard. Just waiting on AndyF getting back to me for that one.

Been a while since I have experinced the thrills of the Impreza and I cannot wait to let it rip again!

Nice to see you and the car back on the road,i spotted it last weekend at Dunc's when i was up there with my Bro putting his TT Supra on the rolling road,i did spot the turbo in a box in your back seat is that the one you are selling?

  2. Yeah m8 i know but due to new house this week and the skyline not fitting the drive had to sell,Mine was at 327bhp to the rear loads o fun lol.

Saw a few nice one's and my brother had his TT Supra on and made 325 bhp so he was quite happy with that .

  3. Yip back to having 2 classic scoobs in the household but could be 3 soon as son is after a 1.6 one.

Very clean looking scooby mate, i must admit after being at Hypertech today and seeing some of those skyline's on the rolling road especially the white one with around 551 bhp i'm very tempted.

  4. Yea, I'll wave if I see them in time... however I find that a lot of classics arent owned by enthusiasts any longer and the "what the f@ck you doing" look gets given in response to my wave. But, the newage drivers are just as bad, an awful lot of them arent enthusiasts either.. so tend to get a confused look if you wave at them!!

So now classics/blobeyes & hawkeyes arent responding, I'm gonna target the Bugeyes cause more of them are owned by enthusiasts, what with their 'challenging looks'.... lol, just kidding!! :rotfl::D

    Cheers,

    Grant

    My Bugeye and i alway's give a nod or a wave :D

  5. yes sure did 420 on A & B roads at the weekend never went above 90 mph most was at 65 to 70 still got 70% left out of two tanks

I have an 01 WRX with just over 100k and i always put £30 of V Power in which gives me 3/4 of a tank and im lucky if i get 140 miles and thats driving normal with the odd blast.

  7. ........ as a courtesy car.

Only while mine is in getting the up-pipe problem fixed.

What can I say about the new car, well I'm not a fan of the new look but it's a nice enough car to drive. Interior is nice enough although door cards feel a bit cold with not fabric insert, also sunvisor feels very plastic. Drive wise bit to much body roll and doesn't feel quite as planted on he road, I know I drive an STI9 which is completely different but I had a non-turbo bugeye before and think it was better.

Can't really complain as it is a courtesy car, and will reserve my final judgement until I see and drive the new STI.

Was that you in Grieve's yesterday morning, had scotish scoobies and santa cruise logo on the back window of your car?

  8. Its a long drawn out affair. Made me a verbal offer of £5k last wed. Was meant to have sent docs for me to sign that day, but still not arrived! Thats 2 months since the crash tomorrow!!

Nationwide Crash Repair are terrible. Its them delaying and not Aplan or Marketstudy.

Hopefully going looking for a nice sensible station wagon at the weekend, thanks to my taxi...Double Zero!

Taxi for Taylor oh yes the meter will be on overtime this weekend

Yes Dave got the light fixed it was just a loose connection

  10. Well found out the problem this morning,it's the driver's side rocker cover leaking oil onto the exhaust ,so got the rocker cover gasket this morning from Grieve's & the two small 'D' shape ones for around the spark plugs will be here tomorrow so hopefully that will be it sorted.

  11. Mine's was doing the excat same, turned out to be the drivers side rocker cover, pritty simple fix.

Wont know until tomorrow when it goes up on my mate's ramp but i did notice a little dampness around the passenger's side rocker cover when it was getting serviced a couple of week's a go so hopefully just change the gasket and that will be it sorted.
