Gary I have a P1 and I have been in the official P1 club/forum since Jan 06. P1 engines prove good if looked after and serviced. The most common prob is the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF). When these fail its pot luck if the engine goes or not. We tend to stay clear of "foam" based filters and opt for cotton filters. Roger Clark Motorsport sell a different MAF sensor that proves more reliable. Olly Clark showed me the MAF replacement details on their computer and 82 regular MAF sensors had failed opposed to just 8 failures of their one. Most guys I know change the MAF once a year and stay out of trouble. Get a P1. You will not be disappointed and it's a good base for high end modifications.

The car you are just about to see is powered by a rocket (not a jet). It belonged to Sammy Miller who had the car designed at Cape Canavral in USA. I have spoken to Sammy many times and the car IS 58,000 bhp. In the early 80's I saw him do the quarter mile where he went from 0 to 356mph in 3.56 seconds. A friend and I are going to time my car from 0 - 100mph as accurate as we can with a digital timer. We shall be doing it in the dry, me & friend in car, and a full tank of fuel. Nearest guess wins. Prize........ Buys the first round of drinks at the next large meeting.

k, The turbo will not be available until Oct / Nov time anyway Daz. Not sure if I told you but it's a Hybrid Garret RCM400 Turbo 1 of only 2 in existence. The other one is on a rally prepared Impreza in Wales I believe. It cost £1295 new and the new engine (as up to today's date has done 3003 miles). I guess it will have done approximately 5K by Oct Nov time. I will PM you a price to discuss. I will also have some other bits for sale at the time, ie 5 speed box / prop / drive shafts, diff's, and may be some other bits. The fuel system may be changed to achieve 630 bhp ? not sure yet. All of the suspension may require changing as well ? I will keep you informed, and I will hold what ever you want. If you don't require anything else, no probs. I will sell it all on the P1 forum no trouble.
