As some of you know Oct / Nov 08 should be the final phase at Roger Clark Motorsport.
Work will consist of:-
Suspension:
Olly mentioned that to improve the grip levels the suspension will need to be changed. Adjustable dampers etc.
Transmission: (The engine had outgrown the current box, bless it.)
A new 6 speed sequential gearbox - Torque Line carbon fibre prop - Clutch (twin plate organic) - other works may be required?
Brakes:
355mm vent' discs - AP Racing 6 pot (front) 4 pot (rear) - all pipework in braided hosing.
Engine:
Roller bearing Turbo (type not decided yet)
Launch Control will be enabled, (Anti Lag enabled already)
Further works may be required.
The car is currently limited to around 430 bhp by the turbo. When released in Dec the bhp will be an Matt Clark & Dave Rowe estimated 620 - 630bhp.
Testing will most likely reveal further works in the suspension department. "Marti" ( a member of the Official P1 Club) currently has the fastest P1 on the planet running around 570bhp I think?, however, he has trouble achieving any grip in 1st,2nd or 3rd gear when flat. Marti and I will more than likely end up with the same set ups as his P1 has also been designed and built by Matt Clark.
When running flat out with 430bhp you get through the gears much faster, and three times now I have gone up through the box 1st-2nd-3rd-4th - 3rd. Luckily I knew a split second before releasing the clutch pedal !. Hence the new 6 speed sequential box.
The current Prodrive brakes have also been effected by the new engine. There sold and 20 pots of AP Racing are going on 355's.
Really looking forward to the day it's finished. To be honest it's a right babe to drive at 430bhp, so 600+ does suggests a good crack.
I have been advised to expect 0 - 100mph in 7: something, and 0 to 60 and back to a standstill in under 6 seconds (using Launch Control).
Most of the engine is 800bhp compatible with the I.Cooler compatible to 725. I have also be advised that using race fuel on a new map would produce 700bhp+, but thats getting stupid.
Will keep you posted.
