iain01 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 know this has been discussed before and had a look at previous posts. I have a 01 wrx fitted centrepipe and racebox last year. A couple of weeks ago I fitted a K&N panel filter and got second cat removed with decat pipe fitted. The car is running smoothly and pulling well with a slightly better throttle response, but seems to be using more fuel. Worked out that I was getting around 22mpg after the decat pipe and filter were fitted with moderate driving. Does that seem about right? Maybe its just a case of paying more attention to the fuel gauge because I've had those mods done.
gus the bus Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I thought i was getting great results with the 555[]. then remembered it was only the speedo overlay that was changed to MPH and I hadnt had 320 miles but 320 km to the tank[][:$]
iain01 Posted April 26, 2007 Author Posted April 26, 2007 I got 150- 160 miles for £30 of tesco 99 (vpower is very scarce in south ayrshire, bp everywhere)
imprezapete Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Before Group N filter and less restrictive backbox = 290-310 miles a tank After Group N filter and less restrictive backbox = 240-260 miles a tank
scouk Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I've been seeing around 250-275 on a 01 WRX with prodrive BB and green panel filter running on V-Power. Just got the 3rd cat removed last weekend so I'll see how that affects economy..
thewelsho Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Sounds about right. MY06 3rd Cat delete, de-resonated centre and Prodrive backbox, just over 21MPG. As Craig says 9-10 on track ouch! I did get 24.74 one week, but this was because I covered a lot of distance driving at moderate speeds (wife in the car throwing up in to a polly back as I negotiated the twisties!).
iain01 Posted April 26, 2007 Author Posted April 26, 2007 21 on a good day and about 10 @ knockhill[:|] Craig, is that with major mods?
marky.t.s Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 well i must be on my own here,i have never bothered calculating my mpg,if my cars running fine, and, the needle goes near the "E",then i fill up. What i found was that pressing the loud pedal=needle moves faster towards the big "E" Less pressing on the loud pedal=slow moving needle. ......simple really.[]
