oletam Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ownin...cle/DG_10012524 B******s. £300!!!
dipsy Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Poor scooby driver after the 23/03/06 paying 300pounds for road tax .I am 205pound for 05 Jdm sti with 342k/gm.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I got my notice in last week for road tax...............will be buying a full year......... I just love that I am paying less for a WRX even though my car is faster than an STi [] CGS
thefastone Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I dont know, I am glad that I have just re-taxed my car... 175 and no worrying about how much yet... I'm guessing that the classic uk turbos are only going up £5 this year? to £180....? its all a bit confusing for me like....
andy Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I'm of the opinion that they will shaft me no matter what I do. You only live once and you have to live to the max. I'm looking at an 07 STi to replace my 04 WRX and **** the consequences and expense. If they don't take it off me in road tax, they'll take it off me in some other way. Be as well have fun while I can. []
arch Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 National insurance rates are doubling which will probably wipe out any tax saving and leave most with a higher tax burden than before. Shower of robbing B*******. They even had the cheak to say that this would help those who worked hard, my a***. Well at least I am in band F.
lesley Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 STIs are G, WRX are F. Officially that is. Some of us are maybe ...... less environmentally friendly? Teeeheeeeheee. Ive just used the VED calculator on Parkers for MY52 Impreza 2.0 WRX STI 4d (02) and it says im a band F? Can somebody please tell me if im a F or a G. no rude comments please!
nanaki Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 yet another fine reason that classics are better. road tax is cheeper. sucks for those in band g though. that is a joke when you consider what the insurance and fuel is on top. 300£ is one thing but to go to 400 in another year is a disgrace.

Everything registered before 23rd March 2006 will be in group F at the highest so you will be ok. Group G only applies to cars registered after this date. [] Steve.
lesley Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Cool thanks for that steve, can relax a bit now! []
Alan-G Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Sorry to say st3ph3n but thats not quite right. I am in group G but I think you are in Group F. Its tight between F and G for you. Check your log book. Whats yer Co2 emissions ? If yer less than 225g/km then yer in Group F. More and your in G. But, I think wi' yer mods then your in my group. :-(
james666 Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 ok me confused!!!!! so wat will my 95 sti wagon be?????????? ooohhh and the 95 legacy twin turbo (hippo herse) (LUSBOTS GTB) ?????
Alan-G Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 If yer over 225g/km emissions (shown on yer log book) then its automatic Band G. No questions about it. My WRX is the 2.5 ltr resulting in more emission. Standard 2.0ltr WRX is about 219g/km emissions which is a baw hair under 225 (wouldn't take much of an engine management problem to excede that on yer next MOT though. But if still under 225g/km then yer in band F. £210 bunny's a year. HTH.
wilky Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 That french lassies a babe Andy, anyway. So it looks like the Leggy will be okay then. Glad Ive got old cars. Callum W
st3ph3n Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Alan, very interesting. I thought one of the reasons they went to the 2.5 was because they could get the same power with less emissions. Oh well, wrong again. £400 is a ****ing joke.
thewelsho Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I'm of the opinion that they will shaft me no matter what I do. You only live once and you have to live to the max. Be as well have fun while I can. [] Aye, that's the right attitude to take. I'm going with that and I'm getting a "Band G and Proud" tshirt to get it right up the eco-nuts! Enjoy the 07 STi Andy.
Alan-G Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 What does your log book state on yer emissions St3ph3n (Co2 scenario) ? Is it as bad as I thought - If it is then were all fecked.
thewelsho Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 What does your log book state on yer emissions St3ph3n (Co2 scenario) ? Is it as bad as I thought - If it is then were all fecked. Stephen shoud be ok for Band F I think as his car is pre 23/3/06. I gave Halley's a call today and they said I'm in F, cause my car was registered before 23/03/07. I pointed out to him that the threshhold was 06 and not 07. He said, hmmmmm and I then I told him I had a £190 (F) tax disc and not £210 (G) and he said hmmmmm some more. I'm going with G anything else is a bonus.
Alan-G Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 NOT us all though... Dont worry too much guys - but check yer log book for emissions and if necc. Doctor it using Paint shop pro (of courser Do not) That would be Illegal. []
Alan-G Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 The registered date of the car dont matter now Welsho. Emissions rule the F/G band. Yep. yer Fecked as well as me and St3ph3n. Next year its 400 candy pops for us. (if yer emissions are over 225g/km you pay top whack) Our local sub post office confirmed this today with me. How did they get the new band data sheet just after the budget I wonder ?
Alan-G Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Possibly a plus side here though, Pay the F**cking G band tax and wonder - is there currently a limit (ceiling) to a domestic family cars emissions ? Would that mean a full decat would be legal ?
Alan-G Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 219 for me. Officially [] Band F lucky boy. Wont get an MOT St3ph3n.
