I have an 04 STI with a TSL firestorm system from the centre cat back.

Davie,

do you mean up pipe (from headers to turbo?) or downpipe (from turbo to cat pipe and onto centre section?

If its the downpipe your after then I can get one for you for £150. As just been fitted to St3ph3ns car. and will fit perfectly to your current system. I (my mate Paul) has also supplied many members on here with centre sections, decat pipes etc.... with no complaints. all components are obviously in Stainless Steel.

........and available in my "group buys"

quality is first class and power!!!! well look @ st3ph3ns figures[:P][;)]

Davie your STI has no uppipe cat. You have the Down pipe and then the 2nd cat. If you wanted to keep 1 cat in your car then you'd want to keep the short DP with cat and replace the 2nd one.

I just so happen to have that particular pipe going spare as I've now fitted a completely decatted "long"  down pipe which is the same length as the short dp with cat and then the cat pipe.

If you went for the long downpipe which was decatted you'd obviously be fully decatted, and would probably want a remap.

I bought the cat delete from Gus for I think £100. Was fitted to the car in august along with a de-resonated centre section. Just checked my petrol spreadsheet and it was fitted 2 days before the trackday in August and has done about 5000 miles as it was removed just about 2 weeks ago by greers.

I'd take £50 for it.

Quality is excellent, was in good condition too. Worth a couple of horses for definite.

Well Dave.....I could get you a Meercat Snakehead Downpipe in 3inch for £250 fitted and will mate up with your current system....

Currently some of the top flight Scottish Scoobies are running Meercat Exhaust....Me,Wilky,Cyp Rock,Seano,G.Mac,Jimser.....

Other big Names that use Meercat are Keith Cowie,Andy Gallacher,Chris Dock,Colin McCrea Escort

You know where he is and if you want me to book it in for that is no problem.

Davie the one i got is downpipe from turbo to centre section replacing 2 cats. Engine management light came on as i joined the A9 at Dunkeld on the way back to perth (after doing around 300 hard miles) cos apparetly i need a sensor due to decat.

Im sure someone will enlighten me further on what i need

just make sure its the right length cos mine was 4" short [:S]

Noel, that would have been a classic one instead of a newage DP that you had then as the center section length on classic v newage is 4" different.

PS you need a cell fix for the EM light coming on but ideally a remap.

Karps,

I bought a CEL Fix thing from the states if you want it.  It can stop the CEL light from coming on but ideally you need a remap.

just drop me a pm and i will bring it to the next glasgow meet.

cheers

Ok folks, many thanks for the assistance.

Couple of questions on the back of the replies.

1.I am not really interested in getting a remap just to get more noise and a slight power increase,do i need one?

2.Playsatan was talking about flappy things within the pipe? whats that about and whats the best type to get?

3.Stephen, WTF are you doing with a petrol spreadsheet!!!!!!

4.Stephen, if the replies are all ok then your pipe may be what i am looking for,do i need new gaskets for yours Stephen and is it easily enough fitted myself ( i have access to full garage facilities, including ramp)  ?

The main thing is the CEL and remap.

Advise on this part would be book the car into AndyF after the decat is fitted.  He would be able to check the car is still fuelling safely and not Detting it knackers off.  If the car responds favourably to the decat, shows no sign of uncontrolable Det and the fuelling is safe enough then a remap is not an immediate neccecity.  If the car is leaning off too much or shows signs of det then a remap would be the best course of action.

I think it should be cool if you are leaving one of the cats in there and not touching the induction side of things.  Major problems are more likely to occur if you fully decat the car and run a cone filter on a std ECU

The reason you can stay up with the big boys in a std car is you can drive mate, imagine if the big boys had the talent to match thier horse power.........[flame suit on]

Davie, I've not taken my full downpipe and cat pipe assembly apart yet, so it might be that it needs gaskets. I'm not really sure. They should be easy enough to get too.

I'll get into the garage tomorrow and try and take it apart and let you know what condition everything is in.

If you've got a ramp then it should be easy to fit it as it fits onto the end of the downpipe which is in an accessible place. I watched the guys at kwik fit do my centre section and that in about 15 minutes tops.

I'm more than happy to let you try it and if it's al kosher pay me afterwards. I certainly got a wee bit of popping with it. Not as much as I do now with a full decat of course [:)]

I ran it on the rex for a while as I said and the car was on the rolling pins at dastek with perfectly fine AFRs and no CELs ever popped up.
