st3ph3n Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 my times were down on last time with my best being 13.224 @ 108mph, whereas my previous best was 12.8something @106, alot of people were down on their old times today. Found out the Potenza 070's are cracking on track but mince on the 1/4 (too much wheelspin off the line!) There was one run that I was up against jac, we both had similar starts and I finnished about 1/2 a car length infront of him but he was approx 0.4 or 0.5 secs slower than me????? So it looks as if your time is safe just now Craig Graeme G, the times aren't green light to finish line. The times are based on when you launch. So if jac launched .2 of a second before you and you won by .2 of a second then his time would be .4 down. Last year I "raced" a pug 206, but I knew it wasn't going to be trouble for me to win so instead of launching on the green I launched a second later when I knew I was ready. That time was actually my best from what I remember.

fai17 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 It was arite the day, very very busy right from the start so pish for doin many runs. There was 2 classics running big bhp, I raced one of them and I was quite impressed, once he had traction he was away past me[:^)] Nice meeting you today Fai, see you again sometime. Oh and I beat my previous time so I'm kinda happy Why were you not there Craig? Rich Hi Rich and was nice to meet you too aswell as the usual suspects[] Hello to Kez too...your car looks minted and as for your times...you'll just need more practice and it was good going that you had 8 runs as i only had 3 runs as i needed to go to work to have my Chinese New Year Dinner with my family. Yeh it was a good day but the massive queues really pe ed me off... Craig....your time is safe for the now as my best out of the 3 runs was 12.95 @110mph....need to wait till next Crail Thrash on 4th March to challenge your time again.
fai17 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 i always met fai for the first time!, was way to busy. didnt have the best of days, blow a pipe off twice, and my coilovers are way to hard, the car was bouncin coming off the line, and the wheels were still spinnin in 2nd gear! all was not bad though, givin my start problems i still ran a decent 12.5 and did subaru drivers everywere proud, by beatin a noble m12!! ill try get that video up later on It was nice to have a wee speak to you whilst you was pushing your car to the start line. Speak to you next time at the finishing line[]
JohnSt Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 When is the next one of these, I might dig the car out of the garage if it fits with work and stuff ? ---john---

sandyRS16i Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I went and had a pretty good day, ran the strip for the first time too, all 6 runs were between 13.6 and 14 flat, so quite chuffed, but just need to learn to launch the car tho.....maybe next time i might empty the boot and drop the passenger tho lol.....
STi_Bandit Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Will def have to go on the strip next time look like a real good ball, but by the time i had hought yeah lets go for it the announcer said it was all booked up doh Next time most def, and hopefully with a little more go go Bandit
colin_ross Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Sounds like everyone had a good day. Wish I could have been there to have a go for myself. Not sure I'd go to a mag day as they are just toooo busy and you can't get enough runs in. Thrash days are defo the way to go.
craig mac Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 with a 110 terminal your times will be substantialy better were you bogging down? Why when you look at the other times in the top 30 are there cars with faster terminals than me, with slower times. [:^)] 12.61 107.4 Craig Mac 10/09/06 Crail 225 12.79 110.0 JASONB 29/05/05 Crail 721 12.81 110.6 notorious 10/09/06 Crail 985
st3ph3n Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Gearing maybe Craig? Your launch technique seemed very good s that probably helped your times.
craig mac Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 Stephen, 6 speed, i have an extra change in there too[:^)] Confused . com Re the launch thank you, considering that time was my first time ever @ the 1/4 mile[]
st3ph3n Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Next time go for clutchless flat shifting. Gearbox should last ... until 3rd gear maybe? [] I was crossing the line in 4th in the WRX, so I'm guessing you'll be going over in 5th, so that could lose you a wee bit of your terminal. Wing mirrors in or out too?
