Thats a good point Spooks.

I am new here but understand figures and effort.

I only got me Scooby in September and received me first "True Grip"

in October - and the latest one Today. Lovely Glossy tabloid I must

admit.

But, having a look at the SIDC site (and not knowing how long

it's been run for) does beg the question, why have the Scottish

Scoobies (by postings) have almost a 257% better posting rate than the

Sooth of the Boarders (or the site in total) ?

Doesn't really add up.

Talking Cack again.

Off to get an Indian. Sorry Imy.

i guess because the whole of scotland ( well the ones with scoobs anyways lol) all post in the same area where our neighbours all have seperate ones, wot i mean is theres no aberdeenshire, or angus or renfrewshire sections

Imy,

Splendid find there. I will be calling tomorrow...

I spend £115 on the AA between me and Fab 1's cars. Renewal due soon also.

Total saving of I reckon £17.25 (off for another Indian take-away now).

Ps. Sorry Imy.

By Jings tho, thats almost ½ the subscription fee !

I have no idea mate, I signed the contract many moons ago. I think it was roadside Relay. (prefer on-road rally actually).

For me and Fab 1 (as I put her on the policy also) it was £115 a year.

Although now, after the SIDC discount it's £97 a year ( 1 off Direct Debit / year payment)

I called them once (Well twice actually when the weather was -17 degrees and they couldn't get their own motors started and failed to turn up which I felt was an excuse but a day off had to be taken) but, the calibra I was driving at the time developed a severe fuel filter leakage.

I was sliding all over the road, whilst watching the fuel guage go down from full to nearly empty on a journey from Hamilton to Cumbernauld !

The fuel was pouring out of the filter (underside Chassis)  and causing the back wheels to slide.

But the AA turned up (within ½ an hour) at Cumbernauld  and had the right bit of gear on board to tackle the problem.

A bit of hose pipe that he had taken off the previous victim of breakdown (radiator puncture) and 2 cable ties, and he took out the filter and bridged it with this hosing.

Got me home ok.

If the car was entirely Fecked then a tow home , lets say from the Sooth of Englandshire still will not show on yer next bill.

I'm impezad at the result from the AA.

We've got the ful cover which includes home start if your car happenes to die overnight. The policy is under my dads name with my mum and myself added as family cover. Wonder if we can claim the discount as I am a member of SIDC?

Anyways I've only needed them once. the day after the new section of the M77 was opened I blew the cylinder head gasket and took a few other bits with it in  corsa. AA were there is 30 mins which was rather impressive as there computer operator who took my call tried to claim the road I was on didn't exist. They even send you text updates about how long they think it'll be. Turned out the repairs were going to be more than the cars worth so it got scrapped.

Best bit was how my dad joined. He broke down one day and used one of those orange phones at the side of the road. The operator asked if he had any cover with any breakdown companies that he would like contacted. My dad replied "No but if they are willing to come out and help tell them I will join up right now!"
