posts about the forums ( sometimes perceived) problems & past lives  just fuel any nonsense....

Well said Cal - sniping and comments which are not at all constructive serve no purpose other than to highlight to the rest of us there is more to life.  A font here, a forum colour there, a button not there, an inadequate search etc are all things which, like the previous forum upgrade, will happen over time.  Being nasty about it helps no one.

One of the 5th reasons I'd add to your list of reasons to be an SIDC member - the community spirit.  Without it I doubt I'd own another Impreza just now.  Reading threads like this makes me reconsider my purchase.

following several attempts [:@] clearing cookies etc and 3 new passwords i have eventually managed to log on, only took me 1 week to log on!

As for the picture and having to scroll up and down to see half a car!

Old format was much better.

With so many complaints it obvious the forum needs to be improved, listen to the users because without them the forum will never work as the owner intends.

 
Having bought a 205 I find myself spending more time on here http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/ than on SIDC.

 
Lets take an example, I am refurbishing my calipers. I did a search on "caliper paint"  on here and came up with this, http://forums.sidc.co.uk/search/SearchResu...+paint&s=11

There are a few website developers who own subarus and use this forum, am sure they will offer thier support for free to improve it for all the users.

Micky mouse forum designs do not justifiy the joining fee and the forum should meet the needs of all users.

Okay perhaps after a long week i have bitten but cant believe this thread has got this long, but here goes. 

Firstly there are too many people willing to give opinions and not time to improve, change the site or even contribute to other areas within the SIDC.

We changed the site the first time as the platform could not cope with the amount of users so the change came to the previous state, this was used after the people evaluated it and felt it was the right way to go, we were then forced to do an upgrade to encompass IE7, even though this was a Microsoft problem and not an SIDC problem. So we upgrade and no one likes it. Whatever we do we dont do it right.

But i do agree with listening to the masses which we are doing and you never know things may change down the line, but lets face it we are all sat behind keyboards talking and surely as said above the size, colour and style of text should not stop us having a chat and good time here.

Also there is no cost in joining the forum unlike SN and others, you have total access to our forum regardless of membership status, you can post in the for sale etc... with no need to pay a membership fee. The membership fee is for other things like discounts and shows etc..

Shughie thinks it's a good idea, and the two leave.

The next day Tam goes down to the college and meets the Lecturer, who

signs him up for the four basic classes: maths, English, history, and

logic.

"Logic?" Tam says. "Fit's at?"

The Lecturer says, "I'll show you. Do you own a Subaru?"

"Aye"

Then logically because you own a Subaru, I think that you have a

Driveway."

"That's true, I dee huv a Driveway."

"I'm not done," the Lecturer says. "Because you have a Driveway, I

think logically that you would have a house."

"Aye, I dee huv a hoose."

"And because you have a house, I think that you might logically have

a family."

"I huv a femily."

"I'm not done yet. Because you have a family, then logically you must

have a wife."
