bryan_taylor Posted December 14, 2006 Author Posted December 14, 2006 Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post your opinions and comments guys - most appreciated. I've seen the light and I'm going to stick with my current motor - AND SPEND 9G'S ON MAKING IT A FARCKIN MEAN MACHINE - lol Thanks to Russ for the chat and good advice[H] You know what I'd really love to do? And I don't think anyone has done it yet....But I'd seriously love to make a black version of the most current rally car - i.e. the widened arches, cool bonnet and rear spoiler, big phat low front end. Anyone know if a kit is available? Just imagine all all black, sleek version of the current rally car, debadged, no decals, no silly bits (roof scoops) - how absolutely mean and cool would that look? Perhaps shod with some 10" or 11" wide 19" black alloys......Mmmmm....TASTY! I've had a look on the web to see if there's anyone offering a good replica kit - but can't find bugger all [] Any info appreciated Thanks again all Bry
colin_ross Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Yup, do that instead. Speak to Andyjdmsti and get your wallet out.
Andy UK300 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 check out the zero-sports kit for the newest impreza, tis mean
fai17 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Quote Yup, do that instead. Speak to Andyjdmsti and get your wallet out. Yeh speak to him or Greersport and you better sit down first as the kit IS NOT cheap... IMO better to spend it in engine mods and suspension.
st3ph3n Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 http://www.launsport.com/ will do you their kit. Not cheap though: Valentino Rossi drove a black Prodrive prepared 05 Impreza WRC on the 2006 NZ rally:

st3ph3n Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Previous research John [] Rear wing was around £1400 for the full carbon. Not sure if that was with or without shipping.
scooby222 Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 have a look at japanparts.com would love to see this beastie get made!
bryan_taylor Posted December 15, 2006 Author Posted December 15, 2006 Very cool kits and info there guys! I think the carbon is OTT, but that same style of kit painted the same as the rest of the car (obsidian black metallic) would look farcking awsome - leave out the roof nonsense, the bonnet clips, decals and that trully would make a mean looking Scooby. Further to that I'd debadge it and stick as big and fat a set of split rims (anthracite) on it as I could.....Drool..... Get the suspension sorted after that and then I think I'm done. under 5 secs 0-60 is what I already have with 320bhp and 330Lb/ft torque - I reckon thats quick enough. Think I'd like to concentrate more on the look and handling of the car, plus - with it being almost new - I'm not going to **** up the warranty by doing anything daft to the engine (I learned the hard way with my last 03 STi). Thanks again for the info guys, any further comments or more info appreciated - I just need someone to trust with getting the parts and fitting them for me now - any ideas on who is the best local to Aberdeen? Cheers Bry
Iaing Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Sounds like a plan! Yeah i heard you had some engine trouble with your last motor. What happened? Iain
