thewelsho Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 What a great day it was today. I spent most of the day strapped in to John's oassenger seat which was great fun. a full 720 on the second lap was amazing. Jonh was getting the car round nicely. He had a great lap time of 1m16s which in the wet and having been his first time round was rather good. Also thanks to Stephen for a few pax laps. hope the brakes survived your journey home. Thanks mate, it was a pleasure!

Scoobyiain's Other Half Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 [][] Hi Again guys, well I will name and shame cos I am pretty angry about this, It was Scientific Steve that drove on ahead. The news is Iain is ok though, that is so the main thing. And we have been on the phone to the insurance co, they have said he had protected no claims, so at least (fingers crossed) things may work ok. When I went to pick him up and take him to the hosp I saw the car, It is some mess..... needs new front and back bumper, 4 alloy wheels, brake callipers, rear wishbone... that is only what we saw anyway. On the bright side after speaking to the recovery guy who was absolutely fabulous, we were lucky 1. he never hit anyone else and 2. that he never hit the crash barrier, as at £3.5k per 5ft they are god damn expensive....
RA Dunk Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 i doubt steve would have drove off and left him , surley steve didnt see it [:S] BTW hope he gets the car sorted ok, guess he was still getting used to the scoob after the RS
Alan-G Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 good day but it was mighty windy and wet []even with 5 layers on I could still feel the cold ... But Imy (micra_wrx) was getting some passenger laps from a phsyco scooby driver (didn't catch his name - real nice guy) giving it sideways at the hairpin every lap. Superb! Imy had a big smile on his face that was sure. ... Alan, that was Peter (FAI17) that was out in Jools car - not me LoL I'm female btw [] edit to add well done JohnS for organising another good track day [Y] pax lap donations were split 3 ways (Gla, Edn and Central) - allyb, i've got Glasgow's share. Totally confused now! Newbie, its allowed ! Lol. Ok, Imy is the Scotsman with an oriental background right (absolutely no effense mate)? Whats Imy's username? micra_wrc you are female. Apologies. FAI17 is Peter who I spoke to about the hooliganism at the hairpin right? Imy was the (ear to ear grin) in the pazzy seat. And the Scooby is Jools's brief right ? Don't know who Jools is either [] I'm sure that Imy though was laughing at our 16 month old daughter giving it vroom vroom when the cars passed the pitts. The only guys I would recognise at these meets are G-Mac and the Squirrel. Both sound blokes but didn't see them today. Yours totally confuggled. Alan,Jen and wee Hollie.
craig mac Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 Alison What actually happened? How did he crash? As long as he is ok, Cars can be replaced
Guest AlanK Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Sorry to hear about the accident - I can imagaine he aint too happy about now. It seems everyone had a 'moment' at some point today - mines was a Golf on the wrong side of the road near Whitburn and some perk in a pink/orange (defomore pink) Clio fly up behind me and go rippping past in the middle of Whitburn (in a 30). Think I may have upset him when later on I timed the lights at the M* turning and belted up the inside - funny watching him try to get past the other cars the rest of the way BTW It was me, the Alan with a K ,that you met today - it was good to put yet more faces to names. Bluddy freezing tho!! Have order in for SIDC jacket after that one!! AlanK
Scoobyiain's Other Half Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Not wanting to start an argument on here but surely somwhere down the road he realised he was not behind him anymore?
Scoobyiain's Other Half Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Blow out on the drivers rear tyre. I know metal can be fixed and he is the most important thing, just shocked steve never noticed and pulled in to check he was ok.
RA Dunk Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 well sometimes on "these runs" you only bother with whats infront of you rather than behind you if you know what i mean, dunno how the driving at the time was so im not going to comment anymore either, im still pretty sure there was nothing in it as steve is a hell of nice lad tbh
RA Dunk Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 bloody hell havent heard of one of them for a while, your car is/was pretty new as well so tyres should have been spot on too []
Guest AlanK Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I dont think there are many folk out there that would see a crash and not stop to see if there was anything they could do. I dont know the folk involved but think it would be best to get the full story before much else is said no? AlanK Ps I Would like to think scooby drivers especially would stop when seeing another scooby take a spill.
Scoobyiain's Other Half Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Have been told the main reasons for a blow out is under inflated tyres or high temp Will be checking pressures on his tyres weekly when he gets it back.
RA Dunk Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 dont really bother doing it weekly myself , only when im leaving town or going someplace and its a bit of a drive to get there, think halfords sell them tyre pressure checker thingy doofers, one of them would be handy, maybe look into getting one of them myself after this
thewelsho Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 ^^^Yip. Halfords do a nice little digital one. One push and the LCD read-out reports the tyre's pressure, cool for a tenner.
