there goes charlies bigends
Would it be worth getting a Hayward & Scott sports cat to go with their centre section and jap style back box which i have at the moment. If so would it be wise to have a remap. Link to comment
rae_sti
ive got a H and S sports cat in the centre section with H and S decat down pipe with ninja back box , if your getting it for mot purposes they will struggle to get emmisions down ,had that prob last year ,but they can do it. havent remapped mine and havent had any probs , been on R/Road and they said its running great . it will quieten it down a touch ,think mine came out at 98db when i had it tested for a track day . darryl_martin
Think it depends where the cat is. I spoke to H+S about it, either a downpipe with a sports cat, or their cat pipe with one (for a newage) and they said the cat pipe works for the MOT, but the cat in the downpipe works better, if that was going to be the only cat in the system. there goes charlies bigends
It will be their downpipe cat as it`s the only cat on my P1, i`ve already got their straight though centre section and jap style backbox fitted, and was wondering if you would get a faster spool up time and a power increase. martin_raven
Compared to 'no cat', even a sports cat will slightly restrict the exhaust flow. So, if you changed from no cat to a sports cat a remap would be theorectically needed, but the difference would be so small I don't think a remap for this change alone would be worth it. Second point - with a sports cat properly mapped you would get straight through an MOT - no need to change exhaust for the test. Link to comment
