Russs Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Great time, well done, but not even Andy Forrest or Keith Cowie can manage a 60ft time that low. Sorry, but imho Crail timing gear has messed up there
jcscoob Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Great time, well done, but not even Andy Forrest or Keith Cowie can manage a 60ft time that low. Sorry, but imho Crail timing gear has messed up there Here is an example from crail's site of kevamatal's 12.4 ..... 12.420 sec sec 0.484 sec 1.782 sec 108.7 mph mph Right lane
wrxchris Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 mabees ayes mabees naws! at the end of the day we both ran 12.1 second 1/4s, and im bloody pleasesd with it
drb5 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 What sort of power and weight is your car Notorious?
st3ph3n Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Fastest 60ft Time of the day Trophy plus Redline TOTB 4 DVD- Ten of the Best Ltd ANDY FORREST 1.621s That's from the TOTB website after I did a quick search, so 1.3 is probably not on.
wrxchris Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 no idea what power or wieght, it does what i does basically. i really hope this isnt goin to turn in to a ' ur car just cant be that fast' debate.
st3ph3n Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Naw naw. Just that their 60ft times might have been wonky today that's all.
wrxchris Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 all my other 60 ft times were around 1.7, which i think was a 12.4 run. which is still more than fast enough for a basic mod's wrx
Fee Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 DivX 5.2.1 .avi http://media.putfile.com/SIDC-scoob
kevametal Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 st3ph3n, I must say that I done about 10 runs and the 60 foot times were all about 1.9 average, but one run which ran a 12.1 was 1.12, 60 foot time for me so I would say thats its a mistake with the times, there no way it can be right!
BOB'5 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Timing error would make me question the 1/4mile result (on that run at least).
andrew_forrest Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I'd have to agree with you Kev. A 1.75-1.80 60' at Crail is about the best you can expect on road tyres. cheers Andy
fai17 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 And the debate goes on about 0-60ft time but the 12.1 is realistic enough if his car is stripped out.
scientific steve Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 great time there buddy, good on yer [Y]
wrxchris Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 yep i had my doubts about the 60foot time!!! but ahwell. the car was stripped out yesterday had my 15's on it aswell!
wrxchris Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 oh forgot to say a big cheers to fee for puttin that wee video up!!!!]" src="/emoticons/emotion-2.gif">
Andy N Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 The times may be up for disscussion but they are good times regardless, The timming equipment at crail is renowned for, let's just say not the most calibrated peice of gear in motorsport, so do we start to question all good time's made by any of us here.???? or just except it and congratulate them. WELL DONE LADS!!!!
Andy N Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 sorry for the previous spelling errors before you start, lol

Andy N Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Still going to hose you up that strip though.lol
wrxchris Posted October 31, 2006 Author Posted October 31, 2006 aye aye, no if i let ur tyres down. mind im just young, ill have a fast car when im in my 30's aswell!!!!!!!!!!!!!
craig mac Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 cheers andy, exactley what andy just said, if my times are wrong then so must everybodys!!! Kev aka Kevametal just admitted that on another thread and has scrubed his 12.1 time. Very commendable []
andrew_forrest Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Good call Kev [] Here's Kevs view. It helps to be realistic. Thats right it would be mental so I would say crail screwed up the times, there is no way on earth my car would do a 60ft in 1.12sec's. so i will scrap that 12.1 time and say my best time was my last time @ 12.42 so if someone would change it in the times table for me thanks, Kev. Normally in proper drag racing you need to "back up" a result within 1% on the same day. ie if you run a 12.1 you would need to back it up with a 12.22 or faster before it would be accepted. The reason for this is to eliminate the odd dodgy result. Andy
