thewelsho Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Very nice! Looks great. BTW Col, do you provide prints for sale as well as images on CD? Just asking, cause I am likely going on track at Knockers next time out and would like a memento. Cheers, J

oobster Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Very nice Col, but that not how you spell galleries @ the bottom of the main page
4Hero Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 honest opinion? Loads of nested tables, in this day and age is there any need? None of the html validates [:'(] A 2meg intro is a bit extreme, especially for dialup users. Even with my 8meg broadband it took around a minute and a bit to load (Great photos though). The Order/Prices & Contact Us page looks a bit wonky in Firefox. Something to do with the width of the forms. Not sure about the gallery, can this not be kept within the main site? (Great photos though) Grand photos though Colin, you do a great job [Y] Neil.

I value your opinion Neil after what you did for me earlier this year. As with most things it came down to cost, we got this done for very very little. html validation? whats that?! Intro is a bit much, looking into that. Contact page looks fine on my pc. Nested tables? you meaning the dates all piled up on each other? Not sure what other way to do it. Oobster, Web guy isnt the best speller! will get it sorted[] Col.
andy Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Loads of nested tables, in this day and age is there any need? Getting CSS to be cross-browser compliant across IE (all versions from 4.0 onwards), Mozilla, Opera, Netscape, Camino, Konqueror etc etc is a nigh-on impossible task. Until there is a standard that all browser providers meet and comply with then yes, nested tables are a (bloated) necessity.
st3ph3n Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Colin, web validation just ensures that the page conforms to web standards. Most browsers can make up for it, but it's good to have. http://validator.w3.org/ will tell you whats wrong. Nested tables is a method for laying out web pages that is largely considered to be a bit old and clumsy as there's much better ways of doing it, but for the amateur it's easier to do tables. Hell, for me it's often easier! If you can think of structuring a page using cells in excel by adjusting their sizes etc. then you can maybe picture how it works.
4Hero Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 don't worry about the html validation and nested tables, I'm just being picky [] Are you viewing the site in Firefox?

Creating cross-browser, valid xhtml, accessible sites is what I get paid for []
st3ph3n Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 With style sheets for accessible viewing, including mobile devices Neil? I wish CS could do a decent mobile style sheet as viewing the forums from the bog on the phone is hard.
craig mac Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Nests of tables? Colin think the new sight looks quality m8
col666 Posted October 25, 2006 Author Posted October 25, 2006 I have no idea what most of you are on about! Not viewing the site in Firefox Neil, to be honest I'm not sure what I am viewing it in!
