mctwistuk Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 After fitting the Eibachs I now have a rattle coming from the front drivers side. It wasn't there with the standard springs My options i think are: 1)just turn the music up louder to drown it out 2)get Teins fitted 3)get a set of coilovers Coilovers sound quite good and would be less hassle to fit as i think i would give fitting them a shot myself. What are everyones views? If it is coilovers can anyone recommend a reasonably priced set and where to get them from. cheers chris
thewelsho Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 What about option 4) Get them checked out. Seems like a cheaper (other than louder music) way to go.
johnnyr6 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 somethings wrong, either springs not seated correctly or somethings loose. Eibachs ( or any spring ) shouldn't make a noise.
mctwistuk Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 DRB5 has already had a look for me. Seating seems fine and everything is tight. The spring does seem to be a bit different from the others. As i got these second hnad i can't send them back to supplier. Am looking for best option on what to do. Coilovers are expensive but i fancy trying to fit the next option myself to save a bit of money.
Spaceman Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 This might sound stupid mate but is it def the springs and not the shocker? also what is it that is different on this spring from the other front one? I have the original box for the springs am sure there will be info i could contact eibach bout it if you want? Greig
drb5 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 As i let Chris know by text earlier today, i will get the shocker off and give it a proper going over. Obviously something isn't sat correctly and removing the shocker cover last night, didn't do the trick. It's a process of elimination really and after helping fit his new rear spoiler, time was upon me somewhat.
mctwistuk Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 Dave, The spoiler is looking great. Will get pics posted up soon. Thanks for the help fitting it. Would recommend your work to anyone. Will pop in with the car early next week as mentioned. Sorry for landing this with you. cheers
drb5 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Lol, it's not your fault it's making a noise. It's clearly something not in the proper place, so it's my fault entirely.
mctwistuk Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 if all goes pear shaped and can't get the noise to go i have found these TEIN SUSPENSION - Driving Master Basic Damper Coilover Kit for £535 all in. Anyone got these babies fitted to their blobeyes?
