A90 Convoy - Not able to Play !

Picked up my new black STI Type UK yesterday from Forfar and landed right in the middle of a convoy of Scoobies heading North - guutted couldn't play as the car had only done 26 miles at the time ....d'oh!

Assume the convoy was made up from members from here?? Certainly some nice looking and sounding cars!

First impressions of the STI very good - certainly seems a load quicker and smoother than my 54 WRX - 6 speed box going to take a bit of getting used to though - lost count of the number of 6th to 3rd changes in the first few miles!!

Also makes one hell of a judder when you start reversing - anyone else noticed that (it says it does in the manual - something to do with the central diff but it does feel odd)!

6th to 3rd, I know how you feel, it does take a bit of getting used to..

I get a bit of a judder in 1st sometimes but net reverse. The gearbox/clutch is taking a bit of time to get the hang of compared to my 53 wrx.

Have noticed the judder a wee bit in first but it is reverese that gets me (especially if turning at the time!). What do you think of the tyres it comes fitted with?? - got a feeling they will be pricey to replace..Oh well!

Yeah, turning in first judders for me too. The tyres are amazing, went on the september run (2 days after picking mine up) and they are very grippy indeed [;)] A few people have said to watch what you are doing in the winter/ice/snow though.

Aye that was us m8 [;)]

I think i have some pics of your motor too.

Was there 2 madders at the front? One in a JDM sti, and another spitting flames?

Oh and there was this other couple in a white WRX Type R?

CraiG

PS. Maybe just as well you could not play, as there were a few "slighty modified" Sti's[:)]

There were two "madders" at the front - a blue sti looked the quickest, (certainly sounded the best!) but didn't see any flames from anyone!!

Probably right about playing but a 2.5 STI makes a good starting point to begin modding!!

Oh you missed the flames - they were awesome. Wife seen them and said we need to get our car doing that. I was chuffed - I thought stage 2 here I come until I explained how much I would need to spend above what I have already spent since buying it. So needless to say I will have to wait til the new season, by then she will have forgotten how much I have spent.. Nice car BTW. Enjoy
