Wonky handling with teins

Recommended Posts

Since getting the tein basic kit fitted the handling has gone to pot.  Steering getting heavy then light under cornering loads, front end darting all over the shop when changing direction, steering very wooly compared to what it was like as standard.

Geometry was done by Target in perth through the people that fitted the kit for me, didnt ask for this because I dont think target have a clue what they are doing tbh. Feels very dodgy pushing the car hard now, steering goes so light it feels like its diconnected from the wheels! seems worse on right handers.

Tyre pressures are fine, any ideas what could be wrong?

its never ending with this car....so close to getting rid[:D]

after changing my suspension i now have this prob, the car is very scary driving hard and pulls to the left. When accelerating hard it pulls to the left then shoots right once the acceleration settles.

Going to get the geometry sorted and all will be fine again. I'll be using progrip in denny, good guys.

Col this is exactly how my car was before my accident,I put up a post saying my car was trying to kill me as it was behaving this way after having geo done at said place,my car was booked in to get geo checked on the 28th of Jan as I was terrified of it as it was skidding all over the place when I turned in right but unfortunately it never made it.

I'm sure you remember how bad it was so please take it easy and get geo redone as soon as possible especially as the roads are now getting slimy, this is a worrying trend occurring and it could be deadly if left [:D]

If it feels like a bag of shit.........GET IT CHECKED!! A Golf I had lowered once, by a tyre fitters, was so bad I had to abandon it and get the AA to get me home. I got the manager of the place to come and see for himself and he was amazed at the mad angles my wheels were at.

I fitted the kit by myself in the end, and went for a quality laser alignment. Problem solved.

I also still have the geo printout when my geo was done at Target would be interesting to see what another place thought of it,also it was actually a mechanic where I had my car worked on that suggested that it may have been toe out at the rear passenger side and this is what may have caused the back wheels to suddenly start stearing.

In any case if you are in doubt about tracking best just to get it checked for the sake of £50,Col hope you get it sorted soon cos its a lot of money to keep a scoob on the road especially if you are not 100% happy with it[:)]
