darryl_martin Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Hello mate, just had a look under my car (53plate wrx) and the mounting on the front is on the right hand side when looking from the back of the car. Easily visible if you have a look underneath. Not sure if yours is the same, worth having a look as I believe this is the main difference between years. The classic mounting point went to the left (upto 2000) from then on the mounting point has been on the right. Havent seen under an 06 car tho[Y] If you check the first ebay link you put up that is for a classic, the second is for a newage. Hope this helps
Alan-G Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Just checked with a torch. The one in the piccy is going the same way as mine so I think it will fit. Thanx a lot Alan.
Alan-G Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Got it for £122.00 + carraige so that wasn't too bad. Anyone got the low down on a Ninja type backbox?
st3ph3n Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/produ...;products_id=76 There you go.
jimser Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 looks/sounds like you got yourself a wee bargain there[Y]
Alan-G Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 st3ph3n, Thankyou so much for that. I trully can't believe the support i've been given from this forum. (I am a moderator on a different , smaller forum, but this is fantastic). Thankyou all again. Alan, Jen and wee Hollie.
Fab 1 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 It's great being a member of the site, not only are you all so friendly and full of great advice........I also get to keep tracks on what my husband spends on his car [6] I wondered what you were bidding on e-bay for! took bloomin ages! nearly fed the dog your dinner, till I realised we only have cats. The exhaust looks a 'peach' very impressive 'package' can't wait to hear how it sounds on the scooby! [] Jen
st3ph3n Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 The modding bug is very expensive, but very enjoyable. I'm just down the hill from you guys in Bothwell, so if I spot any silver 06 WRX then I'll make sure to wave.
Fab 1 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Make that a '56' Wrx [] Defo look out for us, what are you driving.....being obviously a scoobie but ie colour year etc etc ??? Jen
Alan-G Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 Its a 56 st3ph3n matey. Chastity belt with wheels, cant go over (as advised - 3500 rpm for the 1st 1000 miles) But hey. Bothwell is just a millisecond away if I (dont) put the foot down. []
Fab 1 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Dont' tempt him........however in saying that might actually get him to go to the shops and return with Hollie's nappies in under the hour! []
st3ph3n Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Black "54" plated MY05 WRX. Carbon Fibre GT style Rear Wing, front splitter, Tein springs so rides VERY low. And it's quite noisy too. [] The perfect car for the shy retiring type.
Mako Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Hi and welcome to the forum and Scoob ownership Alan and Jen [] Try and get over to the central meet in Stirling on 4th Oct. Always a really good night and a great collection of stunning scoobs to admire. Or come up to knockhill on the 7th for the trackday. If the weather is good then a cracking day out. [Y] Pax laps on offer in the auld jallopy [Y] once I prize Gus outta the passenger seat [] Russ
Fab 1 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Hi Russ aka......Mako Thank you very much for the warm welcome! Alan and I would love to go the Stirling central meet, can you supply any more details, as we may need a babysitter, as with the Knockhill trackday! [] Jen
ally-b Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Hi , and welcome [] Keep an eye on the 'events' section . Most areas (regions) hold a monthly meet . Glasgow meet is normally on the first Thursday of the month . The next Glasgow meet will be on the 5th October @ Brewers fayre Hillington. Hope you can make it . Al.

craigwrx Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Nice back system, doubt that one though will keep ur neighbours happy []
Alan-G Posted September 27, 2006 Author Posted September 27, 2006 Still running in the WRX but getting 28mpg. Is this normal? Alan.
4Hero Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 28? you lucky sod. I wouldn't complain at that if I were you []
micra_wrc Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 yeah thats normal. actually thats quite good....... i get about 20 mpg []
st3ph3n Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 20 is about my average these days. 30 on a motorway run unless I put the foot down.
Alan-G Posted September 27, 2006 Author Posted September 27, 2006 I think for a 2.5ltr engine that is just pure muscle - 28mpg seems really quite unbelievable. Ok, I'm still nursing her at the moment.
fai17 Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I get 200miles to a tank if i take it easy but it's not really standard[]
Alan-G Posted October 1, 2006 Author Posted October 1, 2006 Bought a new number plate for the car (still keeping the 56 part) but there is a little bit of tarmac that has jumped onto the number plate at the front ! Like it ?
