scoobyfuzzy Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Quote Quote altho i did miss that crazy sheep that decided to play a game of chicken with the guy infront of me, soz cant remember ur name. If you were in the spirited group then that would have been me. So a fun day was had all round... hell of a 'spirited' way to break in a car I've only owned 9 days. Highlight for me.... the initial up and down hills just after we left. Getting all 4 wheels off the ground at once at one of those small bridges (entirly unintentional and crapped myself at the time but now I look back and think of it as fun) Managing to keep the back of the car under controll (ish, ok... ish) as it clearly was getting away from me at some points, especially the new wet tarmac (or skid pan) Oh yeah and of course meeting you all was also a blast. Thanks to all who organised it and I can't wait for the next one. Although I think my car will be greatful of the breather. Ian. (the guy with the bad hair, worse beard and a <geek> tee-shirt) nah mate it was jimser in front of me, we were in the middle group. fuzzy
nanaki Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 plenty suicidal sheep all round then... Notice - "no sheep were hurt in the making of this run."
scoobymark Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Quote plenty suicidal sheep all round then... Notice - "no sheep were hurt in the making of this run." Also a few suicidal drivers, especially the way your rear end was twitching around some corners[] After following that corsa and missing the glasgow bound on ramp, take it you had to do a u - turn to get back onto the motorway!
micra_wrc Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 how much fuel did you guys use and was it worth having the rest stop/finish point near a Shell station? I used about £35 for the recce and £40 to fill up for the run, with 1/4 tank left after I got home
st3ph3n Posted September 18, 2006 Author Posted September 18, 2006 Imy, I filled up in Bellshill on the way to whitburn and when I got home last night I think I had done a total of about 195 miles with about 1/4 tank left, so it wasn't too heavy on the petrol. But yes, it is very good to have start/stop/rest near a shell, even if it is just for a cheeky top up to make it home alright. Especially with some of these nutters in the 350bhp or more cars.
4Hero Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 It was very handy taking a break at fuel stations Imy. I used £35-£40 worth all in, which wasn't too bad concidering it's a 2.5 (I was surprised [])

No that was just me being lost, didn't realise I needed to be in left lane and instead of cutting in front of other scoobies I just did a once round the roundabout and took the correct exit. No fun in racing a corsa anyway []

st3ph3n Posted September 19, 2006 Author Posted September 19, 2006 It was good to see you over here slumming it with us boys from the Mainland Karl. The Death Star is a great car, and it was good to see it again. So what's the plans for spring everyone? Perhaps a double run with 2 start points (north and south), a middle point to meet and chew the fat for a while, then a section for everyone to enjoy before splitting up and heading back in the direction they hail from?
duncan_mccormick Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Great day out and a lot O thot and planning put in for which I say thank you. 1 blast wi the fast group then 2 in the middle was just what the car needed......it no longer has that knockin fa the front n/s...those roads must of settled that spring in!! used a little more fuel than than usual...258 miles or 40ltrs=29mpg[] Who cares Spend more on a bad round in the pub
