AlanG Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Anyone been filling up with Shell V-power in Glasgow and surrounding areas? My local station still has Optimax but has only 10,000litres left and is due delivery of V-power next week, but has anyone been using V-power yet? And have you confirmed that it is V-power in your chosen petrol stations tanks? What price are you paying just now? Ta muchly. []
seafar99 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Cumbernauld/Old Inns on the A80 was out of Optimax for about 2 weeks while they changed over.I've been filling up with the V-Power for the last week, filled up yesterday @ 98.9p/ltr.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Alan, the shell at erskine has it, think it is about 98.9p p/l []
the squiggle Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Hillington has the new fuel 98p a litre No noticable difference noticed here
AlanG Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 Thanks guys. What i need to be sure of is that the tanks are clear of Optimax for definite, so sites which have a high fuel turnover are what i'm looking for. The Cumbernauld one is a bit out the way (unless i'm passing by) but always seems to be a busy station, so looking promising, as does Hillington. Do all the stations mentioned above have the advertising in place?

the squiggle Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Alan this new fuel has been delivered to sites across the board for the past 8 weeks. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/704902/ShowPost.aspx was the first confirmed delivery to Powmill Shell dont run thier tanks down to zero like some other companies do. So they have been diluting the old Optislax with the new V-pish for the past 8 weeks. As you pointed out, the higher turnover staions will be your best bet for a better grade of the new fuel. I am a wee bit dissappointed with 99ron aspect as 100 would have been a lot nicer for the import guys and gals. So i reckon we need to wait another 6 years for 100ron V-Max.................bar-stewards
wrxmania Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Shell in Whitburn has all the branding, stuff inside the shp and boarding/signage changed outside the shop. It was 101.9 yesterday. It is always busy, so I'd imagine reasonably high turnover. Brian []
dipsy Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Shell at the bottom of the Kingsway Dundee V-power 99.9 .It just had the V-power on the pump no other signage. My sti seems to have a bit more power well i am using V-power and Millers octane plus
AlanG Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 I've just emptied my tank of 97 + 1ml NF and trying out Optimax + meth. Was hoping to run V-power + meth for a few days to "flush through" the system before filling up for next week. What shift are you on this week JohnSt if i need to take up your offer?

st3ph3n Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 What are you doing putting V-Power in a diesel Brian?
col666 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 its gone quiet on this post....brian?.....brian?!
AlanG Posted August 29, 2006 Author Posted August 29, 2006 Ran the car this morning with V-power and meth. Does seem to be smoother as it revs from 2-4000rpm where my car isn't doing a lot in terms of boost but is where most of your driving is done. Without datalogging i can't tell if there is any actual improvement in terms of performance, but initial reaction is that the engine is happier with V-power over Optimax. Thumbs up so far.. []
gubderSTI Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Hey guys i work for shell and within the next month all shell stations will have v-power.Hope this helps Steve
