bigbadboab Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Could anyone advise me what it is^^^^^^^???? It seems a bit lethargic for a 2.5ltr. I had a trailer with my mini on the back yesterday and it was a pile of poo. It could not pull the skin off a rice pudding. It struggled through all the gears even on the straight, and the cruise control could not manage the small incline on the M8 coming past Claylands (Junct 2 Newbridge) sitting at 60mph. Is there any way of upgrading the power ie exhaust, better breathing? If not, then although I have just bought it, it will have to go. I bought it on the write ups it got saying it was a good towing machine. Disappointed Boab

gus the bus Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Boab, Think your looking @ 180bhp. surprised its not doing the business[] as we used my 2.5 to lug a rather heavy horsetrailer and dobbin 1.5 tonnes in all across the country and it was BY FAR the best of all the vehicles we have had for the job. Gus PS remember there is a speed limit for towing[][]

Wilky found the same thing with his, drop him a pm [] Here's the http://www.legacy.manxforums.com/forums/ site. It sounds as if the the car is running sick, possibly an air-mass meter or similar. Definately shouldn't be that slow.
JohnSt Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Hmmm, I was just about to buy a new legacy for the very purpose of towing my Impreza, might need a re-think. ---john---

JohnSt Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I'm sure the car's are nice and smooth, however if it's struggling to pull a Mini, it's going to baulk at dragging my Impreza from one end of the country to the other [:'(] On the other hand.... anyone tried a 3.0R ? [] ---john---
