How long does it take to Spray Paint a Spoiler ?

Recommended Posts

Serious question lol. Reason I ask is Scoobyworld told me they had

taken mine to be painted on 1st August and it would take around 7 days

but as yet no sign of it. Any painting experts on here give me an idea

how long is reasonable to wait before I start bending their ears ? Have

emailed them twice for an update but have had no replies from them[;)]

You've waited MORE than 3 times what it would reasonably take - get on the phone and give them a boll0cking!![;)]

That long ? [:P]

Problem is because it's through Finance I haven't actually paid anything yet, so giving them a "bollocking" is nae really on !

It only take's a short while to paint anything, but if there are 200 in front of yours then your 30min slot could take a while to come around, and patience is a virtue, failing that, phone the B*****S up ahd give them Mary Hell!!![;)]

tbh a spoiler can be prepped and painted in a day, as for there being a queue then think about how many colours subarus come in, if they have 100 spoilers sitting to be painted then they could do them in a bulk spray (wr blue most common) get on the fone n chase it up thats way too long!

Well I first placed the order back on July 19th so i'm sure another few days won't hurt me [:D]

Well I'll be ordering one else’s were if that’s the sort of

lead time they have [^o)] very poor show.

To be fair the finance company did f*ck up my application twice, which led to 2 weeks being wasted, so can't blame Scoobyworld for that.

If it's a fibreglass based spoiler, 3-4 days should be normal, that's from rubbing it down for prep'ing to it's in the box for shipping. You can't oven bake fibreglass so natural drying is required during the priming, base coating and lacquering. Then it has to be dry obviously for polishing. There are a few tricks of the trade to quicken things up slightly, but that depends on how you schedule the paint shop.

A plastic part, like a bumper can be done in a morning, because it can be baked.

Am I now being unreasonable to think someones taking the p!ss ? At the fourth attempt I finally got a reply from them on Wednesday which said they were hoping to collect the spoiler from the paint shop that day for delivery on Thursday, or Thursday for delivery on Friday and they would contact me when despatched. Now here I am at 2.30pm on Friday and still b*gger all. Taking into account the f*ck up by the finance company (no fault of Scoobyworld I hasten to add), that's now one day short of a month i've been waiting for a Spoiler and a 3 gauge pack.

Funny thing is i've used Scoobyworld in the past with the minimum of fuss, always been excellent service and I don't think i've ever seen a bad word said against them, maybe i'm just unlucky in this instance [*-)]

Latest from Scoobyworld:

Hi

We are very sorry, we are extremely busy at the moment and the

sprayshop are doing their best to keep up with the demand.

Unfortunately, your goods are still not ready but we will chase again

today and keep you updated.

Not much consolation now the paperwork has come in fron the Finance company and i'm now losing days on my agreement.

Tell them to stick it m8

Contact the finance company explain what is happening and tell them to poke it too

This is comical service

You could have ordered one from USA and had it hear faster

It's getting that way Craig, I appreciate sprayshops get busy but

that's over 3 weeks they've had it now, i've never had to wait that

long to get accident damage repaired !

I ordered mine a week ago Friday via a finance agreement and recieived them this morning!  No reason at all for you to be waiting any longer than you have since your order was clearly in before mine!!  I was on the phone every couple of days though just to keep a tab on where they were, just keep calling.
