STi_Bandit Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 After spending some of today cleaining the polish out from inside the letters and badages on the bootlid i wondered what the rear would look like debaged, or the options available like :- 1. Just Remove SUBARU 2. Remove SUBARU and WRX Impreza 3. Remove Subaru, WRX and the type UK badage (Just leaving STI) Pics of the various options would be of help guys n girls, also whats the best way to get these off. Martin
jimser Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 also whats the best way to get these off. in the past ive used a lengh of thread, work it along the back of the letters
RA Dunk Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 been a post on this before last year sometime but i cant be ersed looking for it but i remember something about a hair dryer with a credit card
STi_Bandit Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 Haha nice pic col forgot about that one,
slo2 Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Piece of flat plastic and gental pressure, then remove the glue residue with some petrol on a cloth. The petrol disolves the adhesive. Then polish up. (I didnt bother with that bit)
rabskyline Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 av goat sum shitty stickers at the botom of my front doors that ive tried to get off but petrol and some elbow gease seems to be the best way and a hair dryer too !

bigdavie Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 if yer wanting the clean look then have the boot lock removed too !! makes it look soooo lush !! that is the very first mod i done to my scoob ! debadge and de-lock !! i love it but then i quite like the minimalist / euro look !!
st3ph3n Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Use a claybar to get rid of the crap that it leaves too, not petrol.
rabskyline Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 why no petrol ?? petrol gets on the paintwork under the filler neck loads of times and does no harm that i have ever came across and takes of gummy residue.
wrxmania Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Petrol will also strip waxes and sealants from the paintwork I believe.
st3ph3n Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 A claybar will strip some of, but not all, the waxes etc according to PB's website. Petrol = designed to power the car. Claybar = designed to clean the paint. Simple really. Use the proper tools for the job. You wouldn't go to the garage and watch them take your wheels off with a screw driver.

wrxmania Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I thought you took your wheels off with the wheel brace? []

I just prised the letters off and then loads of elbow grease and polish. It was a bit of a nightmare! Worth it in the end though.
oobster Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 With no badges, just the boot lock. Got a bodyshop to do it, tenner i think it was.
