col666 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Seeing as my rear strut is bust and getting a replacement is proving mega difficult I am thinking about replacing the whole lot. I cant afford a mega set-up but also dont want koni, spax etc cos I have tried them and they are pants. Been looking at the Tein basic coilover kit, reasonably priced and a well repected name. Does anybody have this set-up? Col.
G.T. Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 paulc555 has got that set up col and he says its fab got it from dunc at hypertech
col666 Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 Think Paul just has the springs? Where is hypertech? Was going to get a set from demon tweeks then find a friendly mechanic to fit em, unless somebody wants to volunteer?!
col666 Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 'hypertech is in Bonnybridge, near Falkirk' thank you......thank you.......thank you.....theres an echo in here.....theres an echo in here.....
ANDYJDMSTI Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I have a set of the coilovers waiting to go on my car when it is out the bodyshop.........when that will be is anyones guess but will let you know what i think of them. I prefer a harsher than normal ride but not to the extent of the Falcon or the squirrels. only time shall tell.
bigdavie Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 if i may be so bold as to ask what the going rate for the tein suspension is please as my motor badly needs its suspension replaced !!
spooks Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Col, Paul opted for the whole set up from Tien so maybe's ask but im pretty sure he loved it [] May need to opt for em myself , sneaky suspicion my NSR shock is leaking. Spooks
bigdavie Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 BARGAIN !! where did you get yours if you don't mind ?
st3ph3n Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Spooks, an NSR, on a new age? Some kind of mistake surely!?!?!?! []
bigdavie Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 how do you find it ?? better than oe ?? too hard too soft ?? cheers
P1 NUT Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 NSR gone on mine too. Was thinking of getting the super street tein kit but undecided wether to do this or just replace the 2 rear units with oe ones and be done with it as I don't think I could be bothered with fiddling with the damping and high settings each time I go to knockhill etc.
sharon_mccall Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Quote I prefer a harsher than normal ride . [][]
steven_williams Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Got Tein Flex on mine with the EDFC. They are a bit harsh but I am used to it now and with the whiteline front & rear Anti-Roll bars is a nice setup. Will have to see what I buy at the F & M Show.
Andy N Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Alright Col, got the Tein Basic kit on mine, will take you for a blast in it. £550 all in and have them in stock.
col666 Posted July 15, 2006 Author Posted July 15, 2006 Andy, Swanie said you were sold out of the Basic kit and the next shipment was in August!?
