seafar99 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Probably opening up a can of worms here................... But maybe it's my eyesight ( which is needing checked very soon ) but isn't some of the typeface needing boostage up to bold! i'll get me coat!
st3ph3n Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Should we have them in local translations too? "Awrite bawjaws. Nice scoob. Get yerself alang to www.scottishscoobies.co.uk before ra big man kicks yer **** in" Oh and they look good. I've got some in the car that spooks gave me at Knockhill and will be dispensing them to any I see.
dougster Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 It's an old one I have hosted. Please feel free to edit at leisure and we could have a vote on a new one? Winner gets a set of darts.
thewelsho Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Probably opening up a can of worms here................... But maybe it's my eyesight ( which is needing checked very soon ) but isn't some of the typeface needing boostage up to bold! My thoughts also. I think the background watermark-type image needs to be made lighter to allow the text to be more readable IMO.
dougster Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 Seafar, nice edit. You couldn't do a link even if it was wrapped in a Mortons roll. Yanumptie.
seafar99 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 2nd go, if this disnae work i'm giving up on any hope of the darts! ">http://
ed-209 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Probably opening up a can of worms here................... But maybe it's my eyesight ( which is needing checked very soon ) but isn't some of the typeface needing boostage up to bold! My thoughts also. I think the background watermark-type image needs to be made lighter to allow the text to be more readable IMO. The flyer was designed to be printed on laser printers so the background image comes out very light and the text works fine on it as over a 1000 printed and passed out shows. Anyone who wants to do another flyer is more than welcome. Ed PS I'm not being nasty in the above comments but when it was first designed, getting help was like extracting blood from stone.
st3ph3n Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 The white on black is nice, but it'll feck your printer surely? Unless you can get black paper and white ink. Do they do that? I don't know. Most of this info needs to go on a Scottish Scoobies website, but we don't have one as such. Maybe even a "sticky" for new members to read including a run down of what's on.
4Hero Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 and a white one [Y] http://freespace.virgin.net/neil.paterson2/Scottish_Scoobies_Flyer_v1_white.pdf'>
dougster Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 Looks good. Could we have a www.sidc.co.uk address on there somewhere please? What do people think so far?
4Hero Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Dougster, do you have a copy of the sidc logo, hi-resolution preferably? If so, can you email it to neil[dot]paterson2[at]virgin[dot]net
oobster Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Here, Neil, i see your Max Headroom avatar there. Used to enjoy his show back in the 80's. Just downloaded Paranoimia from iTunes (Art of Noise) - was Max Headroom the same guy that played Howling Mad Murdoch in the A-Team?
4Hero Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Andy, Max was brilliant, I always remember the film "20 minutes into the future" from when I was a lad, classic stuff.. Good tune too Paranoimia, watching the music video while I type [] Is it the same guy who was in the a-team (Matt Frewer was his real name)? I had no idea and google is spurting out nothing..
dougster Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 Dwight Schultz was in the A-Team ('Howling Mad' Murdock) Neil did you get the hi res via e-mail?
4Hero Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I did, thanks. I'll do it just now and post my final version in a few minutes.
irish al Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Looking good Neil, better leave a space between each side to cut along. Got a laser printer at work so could print a few off. Al
4Hero Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 cheers Al, was forgetting about printers not all being borderless... Here's my final version: It's A3, so will need to be resized if anyone is printing it [Y]
dougster Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 Very nice. I think we are happy with this and the picture could be updated pretty easily I'm sure?
