WHITEUK Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Hi im new on here, wondered if anyone can tell me how much the turbo on uk bug eye sti can be tuned. Or if its better just to ditch uk turb for jap spec before any big bhp is looked for. cheers
st3ph3n Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 PPP gets you up to 320 on the same turbo, 350 is do-able from memory. You start getting into top mount issues past those sort of numbers I think. If you're interested there's a twin scroll VF37 on ebay for the cheapness just now - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-WRX-STi...sspagenameZWDVW I just bought defis off that guy. Took a week for delivery and absolutely top notch. You would need exhaust work to house that of course.
john_robertson Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 PPP will give 300Bhp. The standard turbo (VF35 IIRC) is good for 330Bhp tops, obvisiouly this can only be achieved if the fueling etc has been uprated and mapped to suit. John.
dipsy Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 See with the vf37 he would need the uppipe to go with it and equal lenght manifold aswell
WHITEUK Posted June 30, 2006 Author Posted June 30, 2006 Ebay one looks good but isnt there a way of doing a service exchange for turbos? Does anyone know where from? is it a cheaper option?
steven_williams Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Hi m8. I've got a bugeye STi on standard turbo running GEMS, FMIC, APS 3" exhaust and uprated fuel pump pushing 360 bhp on two different dyno locations. Best of luck with any mod's you make Steve
wilky Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Calm down ffs. A decat exhaust with a decent filteration system and an ecutek remap will see you in the region of 330bhp. then you can start going mad with the mods. Your standard spec with the above supporting mods will see this power gain. A change of up pipe will also be of benefit. Andy F is the man for the remap. Callum W
darryl_martin Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Yep, just thinking Andy F's the man. If you don't know www.andyforrestperfomance.co.uk
the squiggle Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 See with the vf37 he would need the uppipe to go with it and equal lenght manifold aswell ........and the sump........................and the downpipe Fair sized job to put a Twin Scroll onto a UK car
st3ph3n Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 If you're going to seriously mod then you'll be doing the pipes and probably the headers anyway though. But it'd be easier to get one of Andy F's hybrids though of course.
