T123VOR Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Quick Help- in mid detangoisation I have the front lights out but cant get the clips off the harness bit- am i missing the point somewhere? (knowing me probably!!)[:@] Ive hurt my thumb pushing what i thought was the connector- i thought this would be the easy bit- hahahaha[] Any help appreciated PLEASE. Or if you're in the Snodland area i'll make you a nice brew if you show me! Trevor
baser999 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Bet you're regretting not getting Markie to help with his big hammer now eh ? I'll get me coat..................[:$]
simon_levey Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Can you take a picy? Take as many of the bulbs out whilst the cluster is on the car. I seem to remember that there were a couple of loom connectors. All I did was push the tab down and then put a small screw driver between the two parts. Once in, twist it and it will push the two bits apart. Let me know..... Si
T123VOR Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Got them off- just v v v v v tight -didnt want to snap them! Light in oven[:'(] now Trevor
granby Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Have you taken out all the screws as a think there are 9 and 1 is hidden behind a piece of foam
simon_levey Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Just make sure you don't touch the inside of the light cluster and leave finger prints. Picys of the finished job?
T123VOR Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Charging camera ready for tomorrow- so will post later A tiny drop of mastic went on the inner chrome[] got it off but if you look close enough (which i now will everyday!) you can see the mark- grrrr It makes such a difference I recommend everyone does it! Trevor

Guest v8voodoo Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Nice Job T123..!! Seems we are treading a very similar path in the modification of our scoobs, yesterday I detangoed my front lights on my 03 WRX (WRBlue) and what a difference it makes...!! I also fitted an Alpine cd player that looks identical to yours (9803?) and done all the connections so that I can run my Ipod off it. I've also got an amp and a sub waiting to go in the boot. Have you done the STi aero corner splitters yet..? That may be my next challenge...! Nige, Dover.
T123VOR Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 v8v Spooky[] Im not doing aeros- i might go for the fog covers though. Fancied a scott lowe lip spoiler but it would scrape on my drive! I've decatted her this morning!! Next?[^o)] Trevor
Guest v8voodoo Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Trevor, Which bit did you decat? The whole lot or just the centre? How does it sound? It gets spookier... I have concerns over drive clearance too, hence Aeros over the splitter, but unfortunately I really like the look of the aeros and splitter together..!! Nige. T123VOR Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 Centre fully decatted - sounds awesome- spools and responds quicker. Definitely recommend wr sport (prodrive backbox and centre) are now for sale. Getting downpipe fully decatted next month (maybe august £££)- H&S with full heat wrap! Mmmmm delicious[8-|] Then..... Trevor
Guest v8voodoo Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 I currently have a WRSport backbox and I'm waiting for the group buy on Scoobynet to finish so I can get my centre decat done. I'll probably stick with the WR backbox though as I work shifts..lol! After speaking to Barrets motorsport though it sounds like a sportscat downpipe is the way to go. Will also probably be getting remapped sometime before Christmas (I hope) by Pat Herborn via Barrets M'sport. They seem to know their stuff..! Nige.
T123VOR Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 Sounds a good chioce the japstyle backbox IS louder and pops and bangs![] Trevor
