st3ph3n Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Hard to believe it's came round already, but I do have a stupid commute, and a penchant for a long detour. So is the 30K one special? Plugs, belts, random other items?
STi_Bandit Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Hi Stephen, Mines is 300 miles away from the 30k service its a fairly big one as its all the fluids changed, brakes, diff, gearbox. Cambelt done at 50k Martin
D4WGY Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Taken from the AWD website: Oil Filter, Sump Plug Washer, Engine Oil, Check Brakes, Inspection, Lube all Points, Spark Plugs, Air Filter (Induction Kit Replacement Element or Clean), Gearbox and Diff Oil 75/90, Brake Fluid Change (ask about Fluid options), Coolant Change, Millers Rad+Hip Extra Cool, Fuel Filter. Shep
st3ph3n Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 EEEEP. Just changed the brake fluid quite recently so don't need that done, but the rest will need done. Those defis don't look like the best purchase to have made on reflection!
st3ph3n Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 Booked into Halleys next week for service and to get rattle and squeek (the names given to my rear shocks) replaced hopefully. Should anyone wish to donate to the "Stephen needs a service fund" please see me at the Glasgow meet.
oobster Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 "Stephen needs a service fund" I think you should be more specific on the actual service you require. We all need to know.
wrxmania Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 The 30k brake service does not include belts, but includes oil/filter change, coolant change and brake fluid change. It cost me £275 roughly from Ian Grieve, Falkirk. Halleys should be similar. 50k is the belts and 60k is the biggest of the first lot. Brian []
wrxmania Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Also, should have said, does not include gearbox oil, diff oil etc, just what I listed above (taken from receipt of last month and the service book). Brian []
st3ph3n Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 oobster, after my recent success with the ladies I could be doing with the full service too. I got your drift.
WUZ Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 BLOODY HELL - I charge about 190 for it and that uses FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL! Russell ps - you do get a service stamp as well, shame I am no use of the car is in warranty as using a non-Subaru dealer voids it[]
st3ph3n Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 Resurrecting a bit of an old thread there Wuz. Any VAT registered garage can carry out servicing as long as they use approved parts. I had hypertech do my previous servicing and had no problems when it went in to Halleys to get the recent service + shock replacement. Cost was just over £200 including I think fully synthetic. I didn't think they used semi, I better check my receipt. Of course Halleys stamped the wrong bit in the book, AGAIN. How difficult can it be not to stamp the intermediate services and actually hit the one that has the correct mileage on it. FFS!
STi_Bandit Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I just got mine back from its 30k service, Yeah i can now goto meets in me subaru :-), Martin
micra_wrc Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 martin, I quite liked seeing you in April's Smart car LOL []
WUZ Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 St3ph3n - I noticed that. I was looking for something and this was one of the posts that cam eup. It was only after I posted that I noticed the date on your previous post[:$] OOPS! Russell
