david_taylor Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 My Bro in law still has not coughed up his cash for a SIDC Membership, but wanted me to ask a couple of questions for him. 1. He is a touch paraniod about the car. Its a newage on a X plate, registered Nov 2000. Thing is, all the records indicate none of these were registered in the UK until March 2001. I am sure its fine, but he is looking for re-assurance! 2. His dash clock is still gubbed. Removed it and everything seems fine, checked the Fuse box in the engine bay, and the clock fuse is cool, changed it anyway to no avail. There is meant to be a second fuse box in the front of the car somewhere. He has checked the manual and cannot find it. Want to locate it, just incase there is a fuse gone there. Can anyone help? Cheers Dave

oobster Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 It won't be a blobeye if it's a 2000 - it'll be a bugeye. There SHOULD be another fuse box behind a wee drawer thing, in front of where your right knee would be if you were sitting in the drivers seat. On the blobeye there is a keypad there when you open the wee drawer, but dont know about the bugeye. The keypad is for entering the imobiliser code.
david_taylor Posted June 20, 2006 Author Posted June 20, 2006 He has looked in that part, but his keypad is also there. Thats where his manual said it would be....Strange!
dougster Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Oct 2000 was the release date for the bugeye. I'm sure my mates wagon was on an x-plate before he put a private number on it.

dougster Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I'm not 100% but it must be one of the very first registered in the UK. I have sent a text to me mate to confirm.
oobster Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Yes, you remove the keypad - the fusebox is right behind it.
SEEVERS Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Hi mate, don't worry there is no probs with date of registration.....my Buggy was an X plate.....until i fitted a private reg. Del. p.s....Oob,read your signature back to yourself bud[]
