What turbo is on my MY94 JDM STi wagon?

What turbo is on my MY94 JDM STi wagon?I assumed that it was a TD04,but now seems to be a TD05.A bit of research shows the WRX wagons of that age with TD04's.But I also seemed to find others saying that the WRX wagon has the TD04 & the STi wagon has the TD05.

Does anyone know if thats right.........?

Nah, unfortunately not. Wagons got the TD04...God knows why. [*-)]

Now that i've re-read the thread title...i'm not so sure you've even got a TD turbo, as it's an STi you have. Could very well be a VF, though i'm not sure which one. I tend to like to abuse the TD series more. [;)]

Now I'm very confused........lol.I think you maybe mistaken as I've just had a good look and think there's a TD05 in there.

The WRX wagons have the TD04 and the Sti wagons the TD05 according to others on Scoobynet .I did also think it would be a TD04 as everyone says........but I may still be wrong.

The reason I ask is it's needing replaced sometime as it's on the way out.Dave at AWD said yesterday it was a TD05,but maybe I'm wrong/heard him wrong.Doesn't really matter as I'll ask him again along with advice.I was just trying to price up a few bits and explore a few routes(ie Andy F turbo and remap).

Anyways,as your local car numptie I'll make a call to those that know and commence "operation turbo" another day.

Cheers

If its one of the first sti wagons made in 94 - i.e. its a limited number (plaque found on suspension turret) then it is a TD05 (and a laggy mapped one at that).  If it isnt i.e. not a limited version then buggered if I know LOL!!

I was under the impression, the first wagons got a TD04 Mark. Dunno why they fitted them to them...summit to do with towing and more weight, but i could be wrong. You know how hard it is to find somewhere that tells the facts.

How's you anyway? Long time, no hear!

First production run of STI wagons had TD05 turbos and 8.0-1 compression ratio, as Marky said it will have a plaque next to the strut top if it is a proper STI wagon

Normal WRX wagons had the 8.5-1 compression ratio and the TD04 turbine harvester

Source is Hyper Rev issue 4, must give u a shot of these mags Dave.
