bigdavie Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 you may or may not know i currently have a courtesy mondeo while the scoob is off the road and although it is a crap car it has one endearing feature !! its electric folding mirrors !!!! they are so cool !! my q is this ! can i get them for my classic ????
colin_ross Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Yup, nearly all of the JDM classics have them. Should be able to pick then up second hand.
bigdavie Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 they do !!?????????? cool im going to japarts tomorrow after the docs !!!! big cheers guys if i ever meet ye's its beers on me lads !! cheers !!! do they fit straight on ??
colin_ross Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Should do. Remeber to get the switch that goes with them, it houses the mirror controls and well as the foding switch. Might be a PITA to fit them though, what with the wiring.
bigdavie Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 ahhhhh playsatan where do i find the control for the folder mate ?? cheers !!
bigdavie Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 Quote I have the folding mirrors on my WRX [] do you actually use them ?? if not fancy swapping and cash your way ??
FastScooby Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I use them when i go into multi storey car parks or at asda.... getting peeved off with the shoppers nudging them []
bigdavie Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 yeah i dont allow the mrs to take the scoob shopping lmao i give her the keys to the c5 !!!!! the scoob was actually meant to be her's !! but yep i stole it off her and now it's my babby !! im sure you know how i feel !! lol!
uk_Mo Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I also have these mirrors on my Jap Import WRX, they are great for parking Mo
chris_c201 Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Anyone done this on a newage? Is it a pain to do? I live on a main road n have to fold my mirrors in anyway so would be nice for it to be done for me!
thewelsho Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Quote Anyone done this on a newage? Is it a pain to do? Me too! And how much? j
iain_ogston Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 You can find them on ebay all the time. I bought a pair for 20 quid, but the colour match was off (wrong red) so didn't fit them to my car. Unfortunately I cut the electrical connection wires off (RA doesn't have electric anything) before I realised the match was off, so they wouldn't fold electrically now. Otherwise I would have sold them to you for 20 quid. Sorry. Suggest ebay or japanparts is your best bet.
colin_ross Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Quote playsatan where do i find the control for the folder mate ?? Its built into the mirror controls, the folding ones just have an extra swich to fold them in and out.
colin_ross Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 In fact check out this thread http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/692065/ShowPost.aspx the guy is selling the mirrors and the switch (its next to the mirrors in the picture)
col666 Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I've got em too[] Use them all the time, not for any reason really just like pressing buttons!
paul_honthy Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Its a bugger when you've got them folded in and forget !!Had a few close calls with them still in,but pretty handy when parking in narrow streets or down the shops.[]
bigdavie Posted June 6, 2006 Author Posted June 6, 2006 well if anyone has a set for sale or wants to swap plus cash their way just let me know cheers folks !
