thewelsho Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Picked up my new Scoobie yesterday - Oh Baby! Do I really have to keep it to 4000 revs for the first 1000 miles??? Really Really? Hope to get out and about at some events! Later! J
Guest Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 hi there, think we might have bumped into eachother at halleys yesterday? if thats where you got your scoob. we were there 1ish.
thewelsho Posted May 14, 2006 Author Posted May 14, 2006 Hi Yeah, I picked it up at Halleys but I wasn't there till about 2.30PM. Did you buy yourself one too? J
Guest Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 we were there just looking - me, the wife and the wee one - she wanted in all the cars lol. what one did you buy - silver blobeye by chance?, we might have passed - i was in a blue subaru top - mind u the staff wore something similar. alan
oobster Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Think he got a brand-new hawkeye - get sum photies up!
st3ph3n Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Don't rag the hell out of it for the first 1K whilst it's on the run-in oil. There's many schools of thought as to whether going over 4K should be done or not though.
thewelsho Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 Hi Alan I got the 06 WRX with the STi spoiler. I tried putting some foties up, but it wouldn't work. I never got any really good ones anyway, too busy driving around! I'll take some more this week and hopefully get them up. St3ph3n I have been going over the 4k rev mark, but not for long and certainly not red-lining it. Difficult to practice restraint with all that power at the right foot! I had a Celica 04 and the difference is night and day! I knew it woudl be faster, but i ever expected this! J
thewelsho Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 Should be working now... Pics of the new car:
andy Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 The more I see of it the more it's growing on me. Wasn't convinced to start with.
thewelsho Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 My car in particular (Silver wheels, STi spolier!), or the 06 shape in general? J
andy Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 My car in particular (Silver wheels, STi spolier!), or the 06 shape in general? Sorry - I meant the 06 shape [:$]
thewelsho Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 Ha! You got me worried there! When I look at pics of the older model, Iam pretty torn between the two. I guess it jsut takes time to get used to it. J
mctwistuk Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 nice looking car you have there. hawk eye is growing on me.
thewelsho Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 Thanks! Nice car indeed, but the interior pretty much sucks! Must be the cheapest grade plastics used for the switches and centre console - ach well, can't have it all, can we? oobster said something about a Hawkeye as well, I'm now guessing that is the shape of the headlamps!
