Paul
AVI_8 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Great day, met the guys on the SIDC stand, the noise from the Ferrari F1 car was awesome, I think the lap time was 43 seconds or thereabouts, it broke the track record, no surprises there though, lots of things to see and do and its on again tomorrow.

Mabey catch you tomorrow mate, trying to get out of doing the garden!!
oz *sti* Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 yep was up there today also I though the GT and the FXX sounded great but the F1 car was out of this world - I could not get enough of that screaming engine, music to my ears [][][Y]. It also helped that the weather was on the kind side and stayed dry.
karps Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 had a great day even though it was a bit cold at times but it was very productive cos i think we may have a convert [] http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v287/kar...ent=pics002.jpg

col666 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Had a fantastic day today! Managed to blag my way into the Ferrari garage much to the annoyance of nearly every other photographer[:$] The F1 car was bloody loud! Mechanics reckon shumy would put in a 39 sec lap after a bit of practice[] The Enzo FXX was a serious piece of kit, £1.2 million! sounded nice too, although some italian dude gave me a bit of ear ache for taking too many close up shots of some probably quite secretive parts! Nearly got flattened by Charlie Shaw in his mad Focus drifting past me while i was standing a bit too close to the track! Spent most of the day with Miss Scotland, ex-Miss Scotland and some other reasonably attractive lady[] Lois the ex Miss Scotland was particulary friendly[] Got millions of pics but heres just a few- STI Bandit- aka Arthur Daley! Ex-Miss Scotland Lois, Current one Ailsa, dont know who the other one was!- On the SIDC stand- Ooh! my ears!- weeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaoooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww- FXX Enzo- Mad Charlie- Ferrari F430 Challenge Race Car, left the FXX for dead!- FXX on track- Hubba Hubba!- Fastest nose in Scotland- A mildly tuned Fiat lump!- It'll go faster with wheels on it!- Konigsssssseeeeeeeeegggggg, quick but not the prettiest supercar- I was out on track in my second car after the scoob!- No match for a quality japanese interior!- Bling! Rich dude overcooks it!-

DR Motosport Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I wouldn't bother going. I was there on Saturday and wasn't impressed with it. It all started off bad with a queue of about an hour just to get into the car park, the tailback started before the crossroads for the Kelty / Dunfermline junction a mile south of the circuit. Then another half hour queuing to pay at the gates. Very badly organised for parking and only 1 person collecting money at the gate. Hopeless. The FXX sounded good, but 58 second laps. Come on, we were going 60's last month in the Subaru. At least put some effort into it. For the F1 car and the 43 second new lap record. Wow, took nearly a full second off the old record done in a 1992 Fortec or something ancient like that, should have been about 5 secs quicker given the track is also a lot quicker than from the mid-90's. Rest of the on track stuff was totally dreadfull. Demo laps with some very average road cars, Seat's, Fords. Even the supercars were on economy runs. So what did my kids enjoy the most, all the army displays in the centre of the circuit. But that's not what a Motor Fair is about. At least it was dry, on a wet day, that would be suicidal. David
